With the 49ers currently sitting with 14 picks, Harbaugh is looking a little bit like the Hoodie. It also seems like an awful lot of picks, though most of them are going to be late round flyers. Anyways, can you name the 14 guys you would most like to have (within reality) and why?

I think this is the consensus on this board.

Defense
John Cyprien
Datone Jones
Eric Reid
Jamie Collins
Tharold Simon
Tyrann Mathieu
Brandon Williams

Offense
Travis Kelce
Marcus Lattimore
Chris Harper
Markus Wheaton
Vance McDonald
Zac Dysert
Travis Frederick

I kind of did mine differently. I listed 7 each offense and defense that I'd love to have on the team. Obviously we wouldn't be able to get all of them, but I doubt we sit back and take 14 guys anyway. So I just listed my favorite prospects that fit our needs in that 2nd to 5th round range where most of our picks are.

This is a nice collection of guys. Not many will be there in the 6th and 7th, but it's still nice to be able to think about getting a handful of these guys. I could see us adding in a couple of those lower picks here and there just to move up a few spots in the middle rounds to ensure getting a guy we might think won't last a few more picks till it's our turn. Or maybe using some of the higher picks to move up to get a guy we view as a future stud and then using the low round picks and hoping to hit a homerun.

So many choices for us. Management is really going to earn its money this year ... or not.

I would be good with this draft.

1. Datone Jones - DE - UCLA
< has the skills and raw talent to develop into Justin's heir apparent >

2. Jordan Poyer - CB - Oregon State
< terribly underrated, great ball skills, excellent click-n-close >
3. D.J. Swearinger - S - South Carolina
< has the skills to enforce center-field or even replace Whitner soon >

4. Aaron Dobson - WR - Marshall
< big, fast, good hands.. oozing with potential >
5. Dion Sims - TE - Michigan State
< excellent blocking to go with underrated receiving skill >

6. Kevin Reddick - LB - North Carolina
< versatile, strong, and underrated >
7. Reid Fragel - OT - Ohio State
< former TE, athletic and strong... + another OSU stud! >

8. Chris Jones - DL - Bowling Green
< relentless penetrator, strong and disruptive >
9. Aaron Mellette - WR - Elon
< another big, but well-balanced WR to develop >

10. won't curr, if we get the aforementioned
11. won't curr, if we get the aforementioned
12. won't curr, if we get the aforementioned
13. won't curr, if we get the aforementioned
14. won't curr, if we get the aforementioned

There are other variations that work for me... but I'd love to see this draft.

I agree with you about Poyer he is one of my favorite CB's in this draft is really really underrated. He doesnt get the credit he is due an hasnt done anything this offseason to knock his stock but people are still sleeping on him theres a good chance he could fall to the 3rd.

Alright so Heres my list

Offense

Ryan Swope
Marcus Wheaton
Aaron Dobson
Barrett Jones
Jordan Reed

Defense

Tank Carradine
Kenny Vaccaro
Sheldon Richardson
Bjeon Werner
DJ Swearinger
Phillip Thomas
Jordan Poyer
John Jenkins
Desmond Trufant

I could go with alot more potentiel guys. I dought Richardson or Vaccaro will fall to us with our first rd pick but I do believe they could fall far anuff for us to trade up an select one so thats why I added them.

Make it interesting an add a top 14 I dont want?

Offense

Justin Hunter
Robert Woods
Gavin Escobar
Vance Mcdonald
Marquis Goodwin

Defense

Margus Hunt
Alex Okafor
Xavier Rhodes
David Amerson
Brandon Williams
Jarvis Jones
BW Webb
Robert Alford
William Gholston

Some of those guys I actually like or some I like to an extent but I list those ones because I dont want them on 1st or 2nd day of the draft were most are projected. Robert Woods is worthy of a day two pick an I would be surprised if he didnt go on day 2 but I dont like him anuff to take him when he is projected if he fell to day three then I become a fan of drafting him.

Another really nice set of guys. Sims is my favorite mid-round TE (although I hope we take one higher) and Dobson is my favorite midround WR (although I can't see us taking a WR unless KDub and Rio are both coming along more slowly than we should expect). Also, nice to finally see someone put an OT somewhere in a mock. Boone is really our only backup at OT and I'd rather see him stay at G and keep that chemistry going.
