#Browns new CB Chris Owen's deal is worth $1 million, plus incentives. Played nickel, dime for #Falcons, hopes to battle for starting job.

Owens sucked and was always a laughing joke his first couple of seasons, but he actually showed some flashes of good football this past year. At worst, he gives you a solid #4 CB with experience playing nickel and dime and a good special teams player for cheap.
Only problem is we have 2 (now 3) #4 CB's.

I think Owens will be a competent #3 CB

Someone must have let Michael Lombardi out of his cage bc this signing was just plain stupid. A million dollars for a special teams scrub? He won't even make the team. Bademosi is a better special teamer and Wade/Skrine will be better nickle/dime guys.

Hey, we lost Cribbs, Bubba and, of course, Kaluka Maiava.

We need some ST players.

Ventrone was making $1.2M the last two seasons.

I'll take Owens for less than that and call it a win. Even if he never sees the field on defense more than Bubba.

Me, too.

Not sure why there are so many negative takes on this.

You don't want to go there.

Seriously.

He's less than 1% of the cap.

Also, to the Lombardi reference, IIRC, he's had some decent success when it comes to evaluating and signing NFL talent.

It's the draft where he's hopeless.
