How bad is his foot injury? He's a beast of a player from what I remember.
I don't see TT drafting a RB in round 1 even though I wish he would. I think 2nd at the earliest. _________________

Healing from his most recent foot surgery

Looks like we might be in good hands for landing him after all. I got this off the FootballGuys website BTW.
EDIT: apparently, we're also one of 3 teams interested in FS Michael Huff, with the Cowboys and Titans being the other 2... I wouldn't put too much faith in signing him over those other 2 teams. And personally, if TT were to sign a FA FS, I'd rather they go after Kerry Rhodes, he's by far the best Safety in FA, and fits what we want to do (get a FS so we can finally move Burnett back over to SS). |
Lets get bradshaw in here, if there is noone else involved, obviously he has to take TTs money.
In regards to the safties, its interesting to hear the TT is interested. There are so many one the market TT can wait it out, just like he is doing with RB. This just tells me that TT does not want to draft a RB in the early rounds, and wants to add a safety to let McMillian/Jennings develop a little more, before expending a high draft choice on it. I expect a lot of trench guys to be added in the draft, and a WR. |
I guess it's possible we could trade back for Bernard, a RB who's also good in the return game, to spell Cobb. But in all likelihood, you're probably right. Same with a Safety more or less. |

I don't blame him for that, big game and young player. He will get better. _________________

Agreed. If we sign Bradshaw, he unquestionably plays in most passing situations. |

Bradshaw may be a better fit than even Steven Jackson because Jackson is one of those runners that the more you give him the ball the better he is, and would he get enough touches in Green Bay. Oddly enough, the one college RB we don't see much love for in this forum is Giovani Bernard who fits the Packers system very well and is an excellent receiver. I'm still thinking TT will draft a RB and not sign a free agent until after the draft if the draft doesn't fall out right. |

08 - 1 game missed with a 5.4 ypc
09 - 1 game missed with a 4.8 ypc
10 - 0 games missed with a 4.5 ypc
11 - 4 games missed with a 3.9 ypc
12 - 2 games missed with a 4.6 ypc
No reason he shouldn't be a Packer if he clears out medically and TT wants him. He's battled through some foot issues but the key is that he always still produced. _________________

I thought SDN40 was talking about Bernard? Could be wrong...
As for Bradshaw, the bolded above is a major reason to love this guy. Seems like he has been playing on broken feet since he came in to the league and still produces.
Still, hate to screw up those 2014 Compensatory picks. _________________

Another Bio Bernard fan, I feel blessed. I'd love to have him on the Pack, imagine a 1-2 punch of Bernard and Bradshaw to finish opponents off at the end of games. The only issue is Green and Harris' snaps would be greatly limited with 4 backs on the roster, and we still don't know what we have with Green yet (I know he had a disappointing 2012 season, but mind you, it was his first full year in the league, I'd at least give him a couple more years before labeling him a "bust" just yet), it would be nice insurance in the case of an injury to either Bernard or Bradshaw, though. We could also draft Bernard to be a return man to spell Cobb (which, as I said in my last post, he is also great in the return game, averaging 16.2 YPR with 2 returns for TDs), but like GPG said, we've got Ross back there, and I, too, could definitely see them giving him more chances down the road. |

Is there any more news on this? I don't know if I want him. He would be an upgrade obviously, but I would still like to take a back this year in the draft. Then we have Bradshaw - Harris - pick all taking carries _________________

If draft picks be like gold, what be a comp pick? Free gold.
Edit for the OP: Happy Birthday Ahmad Bradshaw. _________________

What about Alex Green? I don't think TT and MM will throw in the towel on him just yet.
Though like I said, Bernard brings another element to our game in returning punts (just watch his punt return TD vs NC State on YT, it's freaking biblical: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTz097lVdKQ), so there's that to consider (he could be our Chris Rainey minus the off-field troubles and all). I'd be fine with reducing his carries somewhat and use him more in the return game, but we'd still have to devote a lot of reps to Bradshaw, Harris and Green every once in a blue moon, and to all of our receivers. That would be mighty tough for MM to gameplan offensively.
Then again, it's virtually the same situation with the Saints loading up on backs in 2011, with a backfield of Sproles-Thomas-Ingram-Ivory, and they've managed to make it work, so who knows? |
