Pulling for the big man. Almost everybody knows someone who had their life derailed by partying.

Would be a great story if everything works out, for sure.

I kinda think Jolly might not be a total tub of glue at this point. He did get resigned instead of just cut, so they must have seen something there. A few years out of football won't help him, but it might not hurt either. He may have used his time away to really focus on getting back to the game and I doubt prison made him any softer. I have a tempered amount of hope that he can come back and contribute.

I don't think people realized how addictive codeine. I know we typically see suspensions for marijuana and stuff and everyone reacts like "what an idiot" but this is almost totally different. Rooting for Jolly and his sobriety. Lean seems to be something few can kick permanently.

If we get Jolly real close to his prior form that would be an excellent addition to the defense. It would give us a lot of flexability with Raji as well. We could go Wilson-Pickett-Jolly in base to save a few snaps on BJ so that he could save for nickle some games. Can never have enough quality fat guys!

600 grams of codeine is a bit more than "Partying" levels. That's "Wannbe Tony Montana" levels.

The initial reports on Jolly's salary were $715,000 and recent reports have it as $710,000. Checking the CBA, $715,000 is the minimum for someone with between 4 and 6 years of service (Jolly has 4 I believe if 6 games in 2006 counts as a season).

Unfortunately, interviews at the owners meetings indicate the neither Ted nor Mike have actually talked to Johnny yet.

When the arrest occurred many felt the same, then it was revealed that the 600g included the suspension substance so it was the codeine mixed with a suspension agent of some sort in a large cup, could of been 7up, who knows. Wasn't 600g pure codeine though.

Maybe, but it's still entirely plausible that he was dealing to support his own habit, which is very common among people with opiate addictions. That said, I don't think he would have any shot at a return unless he is 100% clean.
