Congrats to Ben Hartsock, one of the few remaining "Y" TE's left in football, on re-signing with the #Panthers |

This is complete BS, why cut one of our best LB but keep crap like A. Edwards and Clausen on the teams. Gettleman's 1st big mistake. IMO _________________

I'm not saying I would have cut him, but he's not on the level of Beason, Davis, or Kuechly. _________________

Curious to see what this move means for the Panthers. I assume that they will roll with Beason and Davis on the outside; not a bad move. _________________

4th best? Really? Davis and Beason are both playing on one leg. Even if Beason does come back healty, he wasn't really that great of an OLB. _________________

In terms of talent, we kept our top 3 LBs on the team. The real question is who plays outside on the strong side and can they play on the strong side? _________________

That's the problem neither Davis or Beason fits the bill. _________________

Guess they are hoping to get Jarvis Jones in the draft to pair with Keek. Let Davis/Beason fight for the WLB spot. _________________

This is a totally idiotic move. We save pennies against the cap, lose a great player who is consistent, healthy for the most part and proven to be reliable and he was not making a lot of money. All we need is 1 injury to a starting LB and this move totally hurts us.
It just doesn't make sense. He's still fairly young, he wasn't making a lot of money and we're not even saving a lot on the cap!! What is the purpose of this cut??? _________________

Please think before you post and stop being dramatic.
James Anderson is the 4th best LB on this team.
It is smart for future cap, something Gettleman has held in high precedence. _________________

He was designated as a June 1st cut so he saves us a couple mil. I'm sure he will find a job with ease. One of the better SLBs out there _________________

What would releasing Edwards and Clausen do for us? They are dirt cheap and would do nothing for us if we let them go now. We'd be best off keeping them for training camp and then cut them there.
Anderson is an average linebacker at best who struggles in pass defense. Certainly not as good as Kuechly or Davis last season. It isn't a big loss, assuming Beason is recovered. The issue is Beason nor Davis are ideal fits at SLB but I think they'll make it work. _________________

We cut Anderson and we let Jason Philips walk in Free agency.
If we lost Beason and Davis again to injuries, we would have the weakest LB core in the NFL.

You could say that about any team losing 2 starting linebackers. _________________
