Not long ago Garay was considered one of the better NT in the league, but injuries and age has caught up to him and his play slipped.

The move clears $5 million in cap space for the Chargers.

Is Garay worth a look?

Yes, Garay can still play and would work well in a rotation.

McMichaels on the other hand is completely washed up.

Garay is still a viable starting option and excellent run stopper. You will want to sub him out on passing downs though cause he does not offer much in the pass rush department.

Garay was a healthy scratch for half the season this year. He's not anything special anymore, age has definitely caught up with him. He's just an average at best at this point. He could be a decent hybrid type rotational guy though. Really good as an inside pass rusher, pushing the pocket, and solid in the run game, solid all around just nothing special about him. Age has absolutely slowed him down.

Sad to see him go though, he's one of those guys you want in a locker room, really funny guy, loves to joke around and is just a genuinely great guy.
