| Quote: | The first one is Pittsburgh placing a low tender on Steve McLendon.
The Steelers' other notable decision was placing tenders on both running backs, Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman.
WR Emmanuel Sanders: Original round (third round) |

They are also making Punter Jeremy Kapinos and LB Stevenson Sylvester free-agents.
The Steelers placed a tender on RB Isaac Redman and DL Steve McLendon aswell in addition to WR Emmanuel Sanders and RB Jonathan Dwyer.
McLendon is expected to replace Casey Hampton as the team's starting nose tackle so placing such a low tender on the former undrafted free-agent is very risky. _________________

Stevenson Sylvester was so good his last bowl game. Remember wanting him late. _________________

| Surprised to say the least on the low tender to McLendon. Talente young defensive lineman that will likely go elsewhere now and do well for himself. Bad move by PIT imo. |

If the Giants get Cruz poached I think Sanders for a 3rd would be a pretty good get _________________

| Yeah but at least Danario Alexander has really bad knees where the Chargers wouldn't necessarily be sad to have him go elsewhere. With Pittsburgh I think the McLendon situation is a little bit different. He's a young up and comer where they need the help since their defense is aging badly now, plus McLendon doesn't have nearly the history of injuries that Alexander does. |

He doesn't but Danario can be a lot more valuable.
Anyways, basically some team will set the contract for McLendon. If a team offer 4 years 20 million, Pittsburgh knows what he's worth and can give him the pay day a year in advance, plus, if he plays really well, they get a good player for relatively cheap. _________________

Yeah but Steelers fans have been saying that for awhile and the guy has barely gotten playing time the last few years. |

What's wrong with Stevenson Sylvester? Is he any good in coverage? I loved him as a prospect... _________________

Small guy, struggled to take on blocks. Honestly I only remember him on special teams that's how little of an impact he had on the team. |

He's okay on special teams, the one time they played him as an ILB he was only out there for about half the game and he looked lost, they pulled him out of the game. |

| Teams looking for a power rb to serve in a tandem or committee could do a lot worse than to try and sign Dwyer away, IMO. |
