Stole this from the Redskins forum because i thought this was an interesting topic, but what do you guys think was the worst move involving our franchise all time.
it can be related to draft, hiring, releasing, signing, etc
Draft - Tye Hill, Adam Carriker, Jason Smith, Joe Klopfenstein,
Hiring - Spags & Deneavy (SP), Scott Linehan
Releasing - London Fletcher. |

He actually immediately came to my mind. Some of our drafting mistakes are worse, I'm sure.

Releasing soon-to-be HOFer Jerome Bettis?
Or staring Dils in the '85 Championship game? That was awful. _________________

Archuleta had 1 monster year with us, 100+ tackles and than 2 decent seasons with us. |

| Drafting Trung Candidate in the first round. Marshall was in his prime. Made no sense at all. |

The 2001 draft was of two extremes - on one hand Polley, Pickett, and Archuleta were a big part of the Rams last Super Bowl run. On the other hand their collective production fell off mightly afterwards. So in the end I agree with St Lunatic you have to have more to show for a draft with that many top picks.
Drew Bennett (aka the original hands of stone) was easily IMO the worst Rams free agent signing.
As for worst draft pick that dubious honor has to go to Jason Smith. Granted concussions took their toll on that young man and sapped his potential. That being said the fact you draft a guy number two overall in 2009 and by the start of the 2012 season is no longer on your roster speaks volumes. |

Two things come to mind. The 2001 draft as stated already and giving Mike Martz the head coaching job and input on drafts. _________________
