I hate when I get ejected from a wrecked car and my shirt rides up. So frustrating. |

The college I work at did that last fall. I have no issues with prohibiting smoking in buildings but to not allow smokers to light up outdoors is stupid. I know its cool to hate on smokers, which is probably a good thing if it deters young people from smoking, but I think they are going too far with the restrictions of doing something that is still legal.
You aren't protecting others (non-smokers) health by making smokers walk 25 feet away. There are still automobiles driving around and numerous other pollutants being spewed into the air. I will give anyone the option to sit in a room with 25 smokers for a half hour or one running car, which would you choose?
This generation of children is supposed to be the 1st to live shorter lifespans than their parents, and tobacco use is down. Smoking is not smart, but why do we put so much blame on them and very little on people who abuse other things, like food? Obesity puts a larger burden on today's health care costs than smoking, yet there is very little we are doing about that.
End rant. |

Amen brother. I'm not even a smoker, but there's so much other stuff a college campus should worry about. _________________
