Former Jets K Nick Novak gets 4 years, $6.6 million from the Chargers. I wonder what this means for Folk. _________________

You scared me, I thought Nick Folk. When the hell was Novak on the team? _________________

Training Camp in 2011. Folk beat him out for the job. _________________

If we signed Slauson and Thomas, we wouldn't need to draft another OG. We have Ducasse as a back-up. |
Getting both would be huge. Thomas has had a rocky career, but I think he's finally settled in and could be a very nice piece to an offensive line. I wouldn't bank my future on him, but the Jets can wait until later in the draft for G help if they resign both. I think the Pats did a very good job of developing this kid, and with him being relatively young at 27 years old, his whole career is still ahead of him. |

Re-sign
S LaRon Landry - $4.5 million a year + incentives
DL Mike DeVito - $3 million a year
OT Austin Howard (RFA)
TE Jeff Cumberland (RFA)
WR Braylon Edwards
K Nick Folk
Free Agency
OG Donald Thomas
OG Geoff Schwartz
RB Felix Jones
WR Donald Jones
TE Ed Dickson
LB Manny Lawson
LB Antwan Barnes
S Pat Chung |
Add in FB Owen Schmitt and QB David Garrard as targets.
My wish list would be:
OLB Osi Umenyiora
OLB Paul Kruger
WR Mike Wallace
Don't trade Darrelle Revis |
I hope you don't mean we should sign all three, because that will be impossible. Wallace will be too expensive. I don't really want Osi. I want Kruger, but he too might end up being too expensive. |
Its a wishlist if somehow Idzik can re-work enough contract to make it happen like Mark Sanchez's contract. I'll be happy with 2 out of 4 from my wishlist. I think the free agent marked is so diluted with players the price of getting free agents would be lower than expected. I am sure some of the top rated free agents would get over paid but most free agents would have to settle for a salary below there expectations. Most teams simply can't afford hig salaried players anymore. You can tell from all these older high priced players being released. _________________

Guys we absolutely aren't getting any big names. We're getting guys for bargain prices. 2 mill at the maximum, aside from our guys.
If we release Pouha, that frees up space for resigning Devito.
If we Restructure/cut Holmes, we can sign Landry.
If we restructure another, we could pull in Slauson.
From there expect about 4 or 5 real low cost signings. _________________

We are around $8 million to begin with. We will clear more money by cutting or trading Tebow. _________________

Yeah your exactly right, things may get interesting if they can trade or restructure Sanchez, trade either Revis or Cromartie or even try and move David Harris. I personally dont think we will do anything until at least draft day regarding trading Revis/Cro _________________

We need 8 million going into the draft. _________________

Not really. With the Rule of 51, we probably only need around $5 million. However, we will need to leave some money over for midseason moves. _________________

I don't think he wants to play there anymore. _________________

im ok with letting Keller as good as he was hes a player that we just cant afford we already tendered Cumberland the team believes in Hayden Smith and they should draft or sign a UDA to fill 3rd TE slot
to me this offseason is more about quantity and quality over top talent
we need to sign mid level grinders who can start/create depth and competition and we cant worry about the superstar or even star guys out there it would just eat up the cap
next offseason is the offseason for adding the top talent with alot of freed up cap space
the only top talent guy we should be trying to get is Landry this offseason but again for the right price which i think will happen teams needing safeties will go in the draft since this is a deep safety class _________________

Not sure where he is getting the Keller is not returning out of this. Just because another team is looking to sign him? _________________
