You are kidding right? |
Of course.
Nevertheless, I do sorta agree with james.mcmurry13. I'd still like Milliner a lot at our pick or Elam later on but this doesn't change much for me. With our pass rush, we don't need Revis back there. If I'm Carolina, I'm more focused on improving our defensive line than anything in regards to defense (obviously, one could argue priority dos uno is the O-Line). We saw last year that with Dwan, Hardy, and Johnson applying consistent pressure, it took the load off our secondary.
So, secondary is still a concern. But something that can be fixed without actually improving it talent-wise, if that makes sense. _________________

The only statistic that was truly terrible about the pass defense last year is the completion percentage, which was the worst in the league (66%)
Yet, they were 20th in yards allowed, 29th and 26th in 20+ and 40+ yard pass plays.
Of course this isn't a true measure of the secondary by itself but they really weren't terrible despite a ton of inexperienced players starting.
Gamble costs too much and we can find cheaper alternatives. |

We were fine when Gamble was out. |

I hope he turns right around and re-signs with us though! That is scary though. _________________ "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood

9ers fan, how was Chris Gamble this last season? Or these last two seasons? I'm assuming he is getting cut because of his price tag and not his play. _________________

Yep. He was a top 10 corner in 2011. Locked down a lot of big time receivers. _________________

Edwards was cut. I assume they might be trying to work out a deal with Gamble to stay or one has already been worked out. _________________

My guess would be they are working on a restructure. _________________

Yeah, if it was worked out it would probably be done/announced by now. Either they're working on something or its a situation where if they cut him at a certain time it helps us more with the cap, so maybe they're waiting on something like that. _________________
