Hey Lions,
Working on a mock here, currently at your pick in the 1st round and I've read through your topics and I hear a lot of Fisher/Joeckel - whoever is available at your selection is the pick.
Well, currently, Fisher is available and I'm just about to plug him in, but I wanted to make sure with those available, its a wise choice. I know the FO doesnt draft need, but drafts for future investments and improvements, but is OT a need at ALL?
Here are the current players gone and where they went:
Kansas City *Luke Joeckel
Jacksonville Ezekiel Ansah
Oakland Geno Smith
Philadelphia Dion Jordan

I would say in that scenario Fisher would be the best pick. But, trading down would be better if you're including trades. I could also see our front office falling in love with Cordarelle Patterson and I could see them getting creative and drafting Sheldon Richardson to play DE even though that's not likely. _________________ Kate Upton for sexy President!!!

I think you're reaching badly on Richardson. _________________ Are you getting Ziggy with it? |

Dee Milliner is obviously an option because everyone and their brother knows our secondary needs help, but the Lions did draft three corners last year and might like to see how they develop.
I think they'd draft Fisher in this scenario. Jeff Backus is 35 and entering the final year of his contract, not to mention the fact that he's contemplating retirement. Gosder Cherilus is heading to free agency, and although he's been fairly good the last two years, he's had an inconsistent career, is 29 years old, and has had problems with his knees. So I think they draft Fisher here as an eventual (or immediate, pending Backus's decision) starter at LT, while Riley Reiff sticks at RT. _________________

Fisher it is, I am including trades, its a difficult thing to factor in with value and who to trade up for or who will be gone if traded back, etc. If you can think of a decent trade back scenario I'd like to look into.
I keep wanting to throw Warmack in there, although he is a guard, he's a beast prospect...but your explanation of Tackle needs suits the decision well
Thanks |

Think i'd go Fisher.
Lions drafted 3 corners last year, Greenwood has never played yet, and Safety is a bigger need than CB IMO in our secondary
Fisher and Reiff should set us up at Tackle for the next decade, especially if Gosder is to leave as im expecting. Backus being 35 and the prospect of Hilliard being the fulltime starter sways me more and more to Fisher. _________________

In that scenario it's probably either Fisher or Milliner at this point.
Leaning towards Fisher being BPA at this point, could change depending on FA. _________________
