Jairus Byrd is one of the best playmaking Safeties in the league and after the Bills cleared a lot of cap space this off-season by releasing players such as LB Nick Barnett and Safety Gorge Wilson, they have enough room to keep him around for at least another season.
The 26-year old recorded 18 INTs and 10 FFs in just 4 NFL seasons.

| Ontop of us clearing room by releasing players like Barnett and Wilson, if we cut Fitz we would save even more. Maybe not right away but it saves future cap space. So we should be able to re-sign Byrd and Levitre to long term deals. They are key players. |

It's a good day so far. 
Hopefully this means we get a deal in place for him by midseason, we cut fitzy so we have the cap space to do it next season, and we resign Levitre.
Now is the time to prove things are different OBD.

Bills gave byrd the nonexclusive franchise tag which means the tag is cheaper then the 6.5 million which is the good thing, the bad thing is other teams can offer him a contract. If bills don't match that offer the team that signs byrd has to give the bills 2 1st round picks.
