Why can't the Saints do this and just cut ties with their overpaid non-performing vets? How much cap space would cutting Harper/Smith/Vilma produce, exactly? |
The Saints treat their employees right. They may slightly overpay every now and then, but it makes the team a more attractive destination for FAs. |

I would argue the biggest deciding factors for whether a team is attractive to FAs or not are; A) How much $$ are they going to pay? and B) Winning.
I just see other teams cutting ties and wonder why the Saints don't. I mean, let's not pretend Smith and Vilma have been anywhere near productive. I guess I should just be happy that they'll been given a take it or leave contract, huh? _________________

Loomis if offering them a paycut and giving then an opportunity to remain a Saint. Cutting your captains without showing them to take a paycut is in poor taste. have no problem with the Saints keeping Vilma and Smith if it is for what their worth. |

He's been tweeting a lot more than usual, and a good bit of them are about a new deal. Someone tweeted at him saying something like 2 mil a year and he kinda laughed at that "offer" _________________

Yeah I saw a tweet about 3% of the cap and he liked it. Would be $3.69 per year, don't know if he's worth that much money... |

He produces when he plays, but he hasn't been a starter and he's always injured _________________

Pay Junior 3M a year if you have too, he's the type of player we've let walk in the past and watched them turn into good players on other teams. _________________

This is true. No way we let him walk after switching to a 3-4, IMO. _________________

Especially since I think the 4 players that spurred the switch to the 3-4 were hicks, jordan, tez, and galette _________________

I'm kinda glad we don't have a shot a Spencer. Thought we would have spent money we didn't hav eto get him.
I like Connor Barwin, but with the numbers I've heard with Gallette 3-4 million sounds like a starter and I will be shocked if WIlson isn't starting at outsidebacker.
Just don't think we will go after an outsidebacker. _________________ Isa Abdul-Quddus +hands = Darren Sharper 2.0 |

We will draft one in round 3 or 4. Sign a CB via FA (this class is great, Smith, Levis, Williams, many more!), draft best defensive player in the first and depth at OLB and ILB in rounds 3 and 4 |
