|
|
|
Quote: | The New York Daily News reports that Jets General Manager John Idzik talked about a Revis trade with multiple teams in Indianapolis. A source told the Daily News Idzik was “actively” shopping Revis, and teams that have interest in acquiring him are exploring both what they’d need to give the Jets to get him, and what they’d need to give Revis to sign him to a new contract. |

Quote: | The Jets have been talking to teams about trading Revis for weeks |

The best CB in the league prior to tearing his ACL on week 2 against the Dolphins, Revis wants a new contract and the Jets have very little cap space and A LOT of team needs, pretty much at every position. It would be wise of the Jets to get what they can for Revis if they don't intend [or unable] to giving him the type of contract that he wants. Revis is due to make $6 million [$3 million base, plus $3 million coming in bonuses] in 2013.
In 2010 the Jets signed him to a 4-year, $46 million extension that included $32.5 million guaranteed.
The biggest problems with Revis is one, he will turn 28 before the season starts, two coming back from that type of injury could greatly affect his abilities and he might not be the same shutdown CB he once was and three his contract.
***Update***
Quote: | The 49ers are among a handful of teams that have discussed making a run at Revis this offseason, according to two sources. In fact, the 49ers are poised to make a run at Revis even if it’s just for one season (although that could be problematic from Revis’ standpoint). |

***Update***
Quote: | While reports of the San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons being hot on Darrelle Revis' trail have been raised and subsequently denied, the Denver Broncos have been flying low on the radar screen.
No longer. One source tells ESPNNewYork.com that the Broncos have expressed interest in a trade for Revis. |

***Update***
Quote: | Jets are willing to trade Darrelle Revis to the Bucs but want 13th pick, Bucs only willing to give 2nd rounder this year, or first next year |

This guys gets a new contract more often then Kim K gets around.
I'm curious as to what compensation the Jets expect to get. Will someone give up a first round pick? Or a high second?
Also curious to see what the new contract will look like. It's gotta be a team with cap space though. _________________

If there is any justice in the world, he will go to the NFC W. I want to see him fight with R.S. _________________

Wonder what his trade value is ... On one hand, he's coming off a bad injury & depends a new contract every year. On the other, he's been one of the best shut-down corners in the NFL over the course of the last few years (if not the best) and I think should be able to retain his form if he works hard.
I'd wager to say that the Jets could get a 1st for him, but would put his value at around a 2nd due to injury & contract concerns. Either way, I'd be happy to see him out of the AFC East. _________________ With much cheese,

Nice. Gonna be cool to see him on a different team.
Just really don't like the Jets current situation. _________________

It's hard to say because of the injury and the remaining signing bonus that the Jets will pay him immediately by trading him. Teams will be interested in that number because it will likely influence how they want to structure the new contract. _________________

I don't really get it, his trade value is about as low as it can get right now with the injury. I wouldn't expect them to get any better than a 2nd outright. |

I'll 2nd IDOG's thoughts tho, stay away Lions, lol _________________

Its not just medical (as in, being medically cleared to play). Its questionable that he can come back 100% from this type of injury. _________________ With much cheese,
