This dude is a freaking monster after the catch. Super elusive, super tough, and has the size and ability to excel running routes both deep and short. When he has the ball in space, he is as good as anyone in the NFL right now.
The only issue I see with him is that he could be a 1 year wonder, but I doubt it. It seems like he's got his head on straight and doesn't suffer mental lapses in games like a lot of other receivers.
Do you guys think he is a legitimate #1 receiver, and do you think he would be worth the #6 pick? Just another name to be thrown out there, as I still think we need at least a #2 to pair with #1/#2 Gordon and #3 Greg Little.

Watching the video.....he reminds me of a taller Percy Harvin with Eric Metcalf agility. He has good potential and would be our #1 WR, but I doubt he's the pick at 6.
After watching Dion Jordan during LB drills, I think he's the pick at 6.

I can see the Eagles, and the Jags to an extent easily drafting Dion before us |

If Jordan, Ansah, and maybe Mingo and Milliner are gone, and Star doesn't check out medically, than I think we would have to seriously consider Patterson at 6.
Need matters but not as much as "pro bowl" talent when you pick in the top 10.

You can't even throw star or millner on the list for the 6th pick. As a rule I like to stay away from players that have ANY ??? or medical issues with a top 10 pick. With a top 10 you better get someone that can come right in and start without being a headcase or having medical issues threatening to shorten their careers.

WR is a position that I would rather address in FA. We have a young receiving core already. It typically takes a few years to develop. I'm a little impatient right now. I say no.

I LOVE Patterson, he's my #1 WR. Doesn't run routes great, and only had 1 year at a major college, but he has all the skills. That being said, I would rather go the F/A route rather than take Patterson at #6.
As for #6, I like (in order):
Jordan
Star
Mingo
Jones
Ansah
Milliner
Geno

Sadly, I think the top ten could play out like this:
#1. Luke Joeckel/OT
#2. Dion Jordan/DE
#3. Barkevious Mingo/DE
#4. Star Lotulelei/DT
#5. Bjorn Werner/DE
That would leave us:
Geno Smith
Cordarrelle Patterson
Ezekel Ansash
Jarvis Jones
DeMarcus Milliner
And out of that group, IF we stay at #6, I am going with Patterson. He is the best playmaker in this draft by far. He isn't Randy Moss, but he is an absurd athlete with the size, speed, hands, agility, and leaping ability to become a staple of the NFL's top ten plays. A 1000 yard WR every single year, IMO. Dude has serious skills.
Not sold on Ansah. He just seems so raw and too often do players come into the league with inexperience and do absolutely nothing. I would like to believe Ansah could be as good as Dion Jordan, but it's simply not happening.
If this were the scenario, I would be pretty salty. |

Ansah for me. Good #2 CBs hit the free agent market all the time, and usually sign reasonable contracts. Freak athletes with Ziggy's frame hardly ever do. When they do, the phrase "largest contract ever" usually accompanies the press release. |

True story, to have our choice between Ansah and Milliner would awesome. Those are two out of my three favorite players in the draft. I think Ansah has a very rare skill set.
