I have never even heard of the other guy...is he even worthy of a roster spot? we might just be better off cutting Wells, it would be nice to get something for him, but trading is not always the way to go.

He was a practice squad player, and played in a two games this year on special teams? He's a rookie, he's nothing more than depth maybe. They also offered a 2014 conditional 5th rdp(if he rushes over 1,000yards) or a 6th rdp.

I'm starting to re-think the deal myself. Like you said, might just better off cutting him and getting the whole 1.7 million back, since the guy we are getting is nothing more than a fringe roster player. If they'd give us a 7th rdp this year I'd say yes easily but they've already said they won't trade us a pick this year for Wells. I was looking for a depth/depth swap that made since but DUKE doens't really make since with us imo.

*EDIT* We've change the deal too...

Free agent LB'ers to look through. Might be a guy or two worth throwing a contract offer at. I personally wouldn't mind making offers at Manny Lawson or Jasper Brinkley/Bart Scott.

I've gone to 1.5 million on Brinkley and thats about as high as I'd like. We'll see what happens.

I like the trade for Wells.

I would be careful on free agent bidding right now. Personally I would wait until the end, we are not going to pick up any big names with our lack of cap space, but we should be able to pick up some good vet min guys late.

Patience in the sahrk tank is key. What you want to do is not bid on people until later on in the peice. People go out there and go big early. Later on things settle down and you can get good players for very cheap often unopposed when people move on from FA.

Sending in the Beanie Wells deal:

Quote:
RB Beanie Wells. 1,720,000$

for

DEN 2014 5th rdp.

Move will free up a roster spot and save some cash, our cap will be 7,448,950 dollars instead of just 5.7 million dollars under the cap.

The only move I want right now is to bring back Toler, that's priority #1 right now. #2 is making outside additions IMO. I also saw Nick Eason in the Shark Tank. I think I'd like to bring him back for cheap

Might have trouble with that we seems to have got ourselves into a bidding war with the cash rich Buccaneers.

Well if we don't bring him back I would then like to bring back Rashad. I would like one of them back.

I think we should start having the staff, and myself, come out with a top 100 players big board. Draft is in about a week. An a lot will be happening within this next week with the combine and all. Once you make a big board you can post them in here, and PM them to me, where I can organize them, send them to our GM and he can look through the list and give his advice/OKs, and we'll start working from there on a final list.

Signed both players, almost got Jerraud Powers too for under 1 million dollars but I missed bidding on him over night/morning. He's signed with TB for 900k. Which is a killer. Greg Toler is at 2.2 million.

I don't know how any of you feel personally about your QB situation. Personally I dislike every single QB on the roster (Kolb/Skelton/Lindley). We've gotten rid of Kolb, but I'm placing some bids on back up qb's Drew Stanton/Jason Campbell to come in and replace these guys. These guys will even be better for us in practice, film-room, everything. If you can't practice right, you won't ever do it right on the field in a game, and I think Campbell/Stanton are good practice Qb's that can manage a game if they have to come in a play.

Thoughts?

Consider this your guys' official warning to your GM and staff. If you're caught bidding solely to raise the contracts and then invalidating your bids, you'll be punished by having to sit out of the Shark Tank for an extended period of time and/or further punishments as deemed fit.
