| Instead of drafting another safety to replace wilson. I think byrd could play ss and move aaron williams from cb to fs. I have never liked williams at corner. He is pretty physical, but has never shown he has the speed to compete on a consistant enough basis. I think byrd is just physical enough to pull off ss and williams would be an upgrade in man coverage. What do you think? |

I would not move Byrd he plays FS and is one of the best why change that part? The point of releasing wilson is to free up cap space and they feel comfortable with Da'norris searcy if they need someone for that position. Aaaron williams should be moved to safety but as a backup role. SS isnt a huge need but upgrade would be nice. I still think ILB, OLB, QB, WR CB are more of a need then SS right now. I only brought up Vaccaro and people brought up Elam is because it is a possibility. Alot of questions out there for both defense and offense since the coaching has changed this offseason. _________________

We could use depth at both S positions but i would put QB, WR, OLB, and TE ahead of S. _________________

Another CB as well depending on McKelvin and Aaron Williams. I like Ron Brooks a lot but were awfully slim there |

How about we concede that Aaron Williams isn't very good and not make excuses for him. Searcy was drafted for this day and he deserves a shot way before Williams deserves a shot at safety. I say draft Shamarko Thomas in the 4th round as a little depth/competition behind Searcy. _________________

It may be cliche but I wouldn't be surprised to see us bring in Eric Smith for a veteran presence at the S position. I don't think anyone is saying Williams should be a starter, but rather add depth.
Assuming we re-sign McKelvin i expect to see a starting day roster similar to this..
CB: Gilmour, Brooks, Rodgers
CB: McKelvin/Draftee, Butler
FS: Bryd, Smith
SS: Searcy, Williams _________________

Mckelvin wants to much money and isnt worth it. The bills need an upgrade to CB. He is a great ST but not on defense _________________

Says who?? I've never seen anything about McKelvin wanting big money, i've seen posters say they believe a team will over pay for him, I have also seen where McKelvin expressed interest in staying with Buffalo and seeing this thing through. _________________
