Matt Slauson Question?

Is Matt Slauson a competent NFL starter? That is what we are looking for in Chicago.

Was he any good when moved to C?

He is a pretty good starter. No one is ever going to confuse him with a prime Alan Faneca, but he is a quality starter.

I don't recall him ever playing center.

He's the definition of a replacement level player. At left guard, not at center. He's only filled in there and that's been limited playing time.

I think he'll be a good pick up for whatever team picks him up. He wasn't treated very fairly this season but I thought he was very good when he was on the field

I'd actually choose to keep him over Moore if I had a say. While I think he was average to above average, he's young and has steadily improved.

Continuity on the line can't be overlooked and given his age and how he's progressed, I think they should resign him.

He might work out well at RG. I like his tenacity but he's pretty limited. Would be nice to improve at LG but there are certainly worse players out there starting.

Slauson's pass protection is solid but that's it. He played center few times when Mangold was tended.
