While I continue to stumble through 2013 NFL draft prospects and try to evaluate most of them before the Scouting Combine is here, a thought keeps popping into my head that I’d like to pose to the forum.
Say… a quarterback needy team, or any team targeting a specific player for that matter wants to trade up to the 15th overall selection to get their guy but the move down would put us somewhere within the 28th-38th range on our first pick.
As a fan… what would you expect in return for such a trade?
Possible teams looking to jump up are…
Denver, San Francisco, Kansas City, Jacksonville, Oakland, Philadelphia, Arizona & Buffalo.

I'd love to see us do a deal like this
We get
Chiefs 2nd round pick
Chiefs 3rd round pick
2014 1st round pick
Chiefs get
#15 overall
They could take Star, Jarvis Jones or Luke Joeckel at #1 overall and then possibly still nab Geno Smith at 15. _________________

If no quarterback is off the board by 15... I do think we do a deal!
I'd take...
KC's
2nd, 4th & 6th in 2013 & their 2014 1st
Landing a potential high first rounder to go along with ours in 2014 would be sweet. I feel this draft is deep enough to get a stud defender with the 33rd pick and the price is reasonable especially if it's for a quarterback.
Like I said though, if no QB is off the board by 15, I think the Saints should sell the pick to the hiest bidder!!! _________________

Trading down may not be so bad. But if we do we should be rewarded well. The 15th pick is a starter so I would want a 2014 1 & 4, 2013 2 & 3, and a player. _________________ All I want to hear is Who Dat in the French Quarters after the 2013 Super Bowl. That would mean we won it. WHO DAT! |

Especially if it's your franchise quarterback your trading up to get! That nugget changes the whole dynamic of the trade. I still think the Saints look to trade down a bit from 15 but if no QB has been taken and Geno is still there, there will be some serious phone ringing going on in the Saints war room! _________________

| For a shot at Clowney and Nix next season I will gladly trade our first this season for a second. |
