ProFootballTalk is reporting the Giants are trying to resign Blackburn before free agency... I don't think he's the answer at MLB. Alec Ogletree looks less likely now. Thoughts?

I wouldn't bet on that. The coaches love Blackburn.

Not sure why, I dont mind the guy. But there are better options out there in my opinion.

Sure, but he logged 15 starts, 98 tackles and 3 sacks. Pretty good for a "backup guy".

He's not just a backup, but he is a 2 down LB. He has some value around the league but he's not that much more than minimum.

let's not forget he is the nuts on special teams. hard not to pay the leader of your ST, especially how much improved it is from years past...

If he is your starting MLB then you have a problem.

Dude he is HORRIBLE in madden!!! just putting that out there hahaha Laughing

Now back to Blackburn, I also agree that he is pretty good for a backup, but there are better options out there. With just as much experience I believe that Herzlich can do just the same job as Blackburn.

He's solid with the Giants. That's about it. Giants will always have leverage when dealing with him. If Blackburn wants a job I don't think he'd find many desirable opportunities anywhere else.

Giants are not that big on linebackers anyway. They just need to guys to tackle ball-carriers and cover the middle of the field. The d-line is where all our play-makers are.
