Giants holding firm on a third.
I'll give it a little more time but right now I'm leaning towards makin the deal.
Keep in mind guys that he's a FA after the 2013 season. _________________

I've changed my mind. He seems to me like he is a "Griffin-copy". He is more of a big range cover guy, and what I believe we need at the moment is a in-the-box safety that can tackle on regularly basis.
As stated earlier, this is a deep safety class, and I'm convinced that we could bring in a 3rd/4th round guy who could compete for a starting job. All the other quality SS's seems to be tagged or resigned, so there isn't much to go for in the FA. But we still have Afalava, who I believe could be an above-average starter in the league and I would like to see a Training Camp battle between Afalava and a rookie.
Just my 2 cents. _________________

Just snooping around. But to answer your question, Stevie Brown can play in the box as well as free safety. He has the speed to be a free safety and size to be an in the box safety. He even played linebacker for his college team (Michigan) his senior year. He's a very good tackler and we are planning on playing him in the box this year in our three safety looks, if we keep him. So if thats your worry, I don't think it is warranted.
If you guys want to go another direction, I understand. Pleasure talking trades with you Ruskie. _________________

So what you are saying is we'd have two All-Pro safeties?
That's very enticing. _________________

Well, not looking good. To me, having traditional FS and SS roles is literally the least important part of our safety issue. We just brought in Gregg Williams, whose defenses are built around forcing turnovers. Bringing in someone who is coming off of an eight interception season in the NFL, to me, is more valuable than a third-round rookie when we are a team that would benefit greatly from quality field position and players that can take advantage of the opponent's mistakes.
But obviously, if the majority is against it, then that's the direction we shall go. _________________

Giants are debating between our possible offer and another, so we have until tomorrow afternoon. _________________

Hey guys just checking in, the talent agency has opened its doors. I know that titans0021 already has a great offer together to one of our targets. But did someone put ones together for 4 or 7? _________________

Kind of surprised that nobody mentioned 7 ? IMO, he could be a valuable addition depending on the price.
Also, I don't know who has access to the Google Doc, but we should get Tier 4 coded. To me, that's an interesting group!
When is the last day we can make pitches/offers to the talent agency? _________________

Well 7 seems to be the favorite of Ruskie and titans0021, however I did some more digging on him and I want nothing to do with him. He is extremely immature and has a history of making bad choices. We already have a head case at that position, why should we add another? In addition he has major issues holding onto the ball. While 4 could offer us a leader on that side of the ball and reliable player that does not make many mistakes. He also would be pillar of the community, which to me is really important. It is not up to me but I would make a pitch to 4 and I am actually working on one for him if you guys want to use it feel free. Thats just my 2 cents. _________________

I have finished with the offer for 4 if anyone is interested in looking at it, I think it is a competitive offer. _________________

I would love to read it! I really hope that the Titans would make a run for 4 in real life! As you stated earlier, Iceman, he would bring a lot to the team, both on and off the field. _________________

So just to tally it up:
3rd for S Steve Brown
Yes - RuskieTitan, titans0021
No - ttitansfan4life, Iceman88, Bloeddyr, NhTitan
Anyone else?
I dunno. I feel like Brown would have a greater immediate impact at safety than a 3rd round (or 2nd round) safety would... but then there's the payday coming up next season.
Right now it's 4-2 in favor of No. _________________

My only issue with #4 vs. #7 is that they are essentially seeking the same amount of money, despite the fact that #7 isn't coming off of a serious injury and has produced at the same level of #4 while not being in nearly as ideal of a situation. I have no real problems with #4, but if #7 is looking for almost the exact same contract, to me it's a fairly easy choice. _________________

I'm with you on 4 vs 7 titans0021....I'm just not sure that position is a big enough need to pay either one what they want. Unless we are looking at trading someone away at that position that we currently have. _________________
