UPDATE IN PROGRESS

I made three scenarios. The first is what I would do. The second is what I think Jerry will do. And the third is the OH MY GOD, I could see this happening but really hope it does not happen.

Draft #1 - What I would do.

Cut Free, do not designate as Post June 1. Take cap this year. Same with Bernaudau.

Extend Spencer.

Cut Vickers.

Sign a cheap FA right tackle once they are cut after the draft. Good market to buy a RT right now.

Keep as much cap room as possible to push over to next year. Cutting free and Bern saves us 15 million on next years cap already without any restructuing, the cap increase, or pushing money over from this year.

Round 1

KC- Joeckel
Jack- Dion Jordan
Oakland- Sharrif Flloyd (this pick makes me sick; I hate Oakland)
Philly- Fisher
Det- Bjoern Werner
Trade: Miami gives up a 2nd (which Cleveland needs)
Miami- Johnson
Arizona- Warmack
Buffalo- Ansah
NY Jets- Geno Smith
Tennessee Titans- Dee Mllner
SD- Jarvis Jones
Cleveland- Vacarro
Tampa- Star Lotulelie
Carolina- Richardson
New Orleans- Mingo
St. Louis- Austin
Pitt- Patterson
Dallas- Cooper G

2nd- Short DT
3rd and 4th traded to move up- Cyprien FS
5th- Randall/Bell RB
6th- Blocking TE

UDFA- Rodgers QB

Situation #2- I.E. (What I think Jerry will do)

Trade back with SF. They move up for one of the few first rounders remaining. Gets SF 2nd round pick.
1. Reid S
2. Frederick G
2. Armstead T
3. Porter LB
4. Logan DT
5. Randle RB
6. RAndom WR

Lastly, this is what I could see happening but I hope doesnt happen.

Dallas Trades up with Cleveland after Cleveland trades back. Gives up 3rd rounder.

1.Richardson DT
2. Bernard RB (value o-line are gone)
4.Pugh G
5. Random LB
6. Mopanga DE

REason I hate this is no o-lineman until the 4th.

I made up a mock draft through the Cowboys' pick in Round 3. I also did some prognosticating regarding free agents and various trades.

Then I made three scenarios. The first is what I would do. The second is what I think Jerry will do. And the third is the OH MY GOD, I could see this happening but really hope it does not happen.

Draft #1 - What I would do.

Based on the calculations provided by others once salaries, dead money, and penalties are taken into consideration Dallas is at about 150 million. They roll over 2.3 million from this year and their cap number is now 147.7 million.

Restructure Romo (8 million savings and restructure Carr 10 million savings) Cap figure currently at 129.7 million. Romo cost himself some money in the Washington game. He gets six years 60 million with a 12 million signing bonus. In year 6 we can cut him with no penalty (or little penalty if we restructure salary to bonus after 2013). Doug Free is cut post June 1. Cap savings 4.9million. Cap figure 124.8 Million.

Dan Connor is cut. He was a good player, but you can not pay a backup that much money . We have other players that will get the job done cheaper. Savings 3 million. Cap figure 121.8 million.

Vickers is cut savings 1.2 million. Cap figure at 120.6 million.

Marcus Spears is traded for a 6th round pick. Cap savings .6 million. Cap figure 120.0 million. It could be a number of teams, but I am going with Philly.

Jason Wittenís salary is converted to bonus. Savings 2.3 million. Cap figure 117.7 million. [2014 cap hit of .7]

Brent being gone saves .6 and cutting Arkin saves .4. Cap figure 116.7 million. [Arkin saves .8 million on 2014 cap]

Lee is extended resulting in 1.2 million cap hit this year. Cap figure 117.9 million. [2014 cap hit undetermined]

I also trade Ratliff for a 6th round pick in 2014, but I think Jerry keeps him one more year. There should be a minimal cap savings for trading him.

Now there are some players that can not be cut for financial reasons. Since sensabaugh has guaranteed money he can not be cut until 2014. [2014 savings 3.25 million]

[Cutting Bernadeau in 2014 saves 1.4 million]

[Cutting Livings in 2014 saves 2 million]

If Orton is cut or traded in 2014 we save 3.25 million but I am not including this one in the figures because I doubt it happens unless a qb comes along this year.

We should be well under the cap in 2014 with room to spend.
Spencer is not resigned. I think Jerry is putting on a show of resigning him. I also think he is putting on a show of helping Garrett. I donít like this move, but it appears that Gruden is being set up to be our coach after this year.

LP is also resigned but I believe I have his cap hit already figured in the original number.

I also think we have the room to sign two minor free agents. I am going with a TE like Ben HArtsock who can block and a linebacker to compete with Albright at SLB.

Spencer is signed by Cleveland who moves to a 3-4.

Round 1
Dallas trades 18 to Atlanta for their 1st, 2nd, and 5th round picks.
Atlanta trades up for Jarvis Jones who has an extreme fall due to work ethic and medical concerns. Atlanta being so close to the superbowl decides they are one pass rusher away.

I then use both 5th rounders to trade up

It should be noted that I have Warmack on the board when we pick at 18 and if Atlanta was not offering what they did I would have taken him.

1st- Sharriff Floyd DT
2nd- Larry Warford OG
2nd- Datone Jones DE
3rd- Brennan Williams OT
4th- Brandon Williams DT
5th- D.J. Swearinger Safety
6th(from Spears)- Christine Michael RB
6th- Terrance Brown CB

UDFA- Rodgers

At first I didnt think Jones would fall to the end of the 2nd, but then I looked at the DE/OLB depth in this draft. I have 6 being drafted in the first and 4 in the second. So if you want you can replace him with Okafor or Ansah, but I think both of them are drafted ahead of Jones.

Roster
QB- Romo, Orton, Rodgers
RB- Murray, Michael, Tanner
WR- Dez, Austin, Beasley, Harris, Holmes
TE- Witten, Hannah, Hartsock
OT- Smith, Parnell, Williams
OG- Livings, Leary, Bernadeua, Warmack
C- Costa, Kowalski
FB- (Hartsock) (McSurdy)

CB- Carr, Claiborne, Scandrick, Brown, Moore
Safety- Church, Sensabaugh, Johnson, Pepprah, Swearinger
LB- Lee, Carter, Albright, Free Agent, Lemon, McSurdy
DT- Floyd, Lissenmore, Williams, Hatcher, Bass, CAllaway
DE- Ware, Wilbur, Crawford, Jones

Plus you all know who our Kicker, Punter, and long snapper are. I think this leaves one spot open on the roster for a special teams guy.

Situation #2- I.E. (What I think Jerry will do)

He keeps Ratliff and makes the same trade with Atlanta. He also uses our 3rd and 5th round picks to move up in the third round.

1. Sam Montgomery DE
2. Larry Warford OG
2. Jonathon Cyprien Safety
3. Quinton PAtton WR
4. Brandon Williams DT
5. Gerald Hodges LB
6. Kniles Davis RB
6. Kyle Long OT

Lastly, this is what I could see happening but I hope doesnt happen.

No trade back with Atlanta.

1.Alec Ogletree LB
2. Eddie Lacy RB
3. Alvin Bailey G
4. Dallas Thomas OT
5. Lavar Edward DE
6. Dalton Freeman C
7. Duke Williams S

The reason I hate this scenario is no offensive lineman until the third and no defensive lineman until the 5th.

Nice job. I dont exactly like any of the Complete Drafts as a whole however there are a few picks in each I really like. If we end up trading back which I am not against, I don't think it would be with Atlanta unless they were moving up for Eddie Lacy RB Alabama. I also do not see Dallas trading back if Warmack is available, even if the deal is that good. They know they are running out of time. We do not need a LB in the first round, so I hope to God we don't draft Alec in the first round!!

Rev if the first draft actually transpires I will buy you lunch.

If the third draft transpires I will blame you. (lol)

When the gm trades it always concerns me. I have no trust in him what so ever.

On Quinton Patton...doubt very seriously he last until the third round. I would love to trade Austin and be able to stick Patton in his place but we couldn't get enough for Austin.

I'd take the 2nd scenario in a heartbeat!!! A Safety and TWO OL?!?! Perfect! AND still getting a decent RB? Great! Don't much care for the other 3 picks, but the 4 I like would pretty much MAKE the draft for me.
