Length, height, vision, hand size, arm length-stride length is more important then pure wheels, Foles has better tool to sale the fakes and see the defense unfolding, he so long he can confuse defenders by being some where when hes not, like Marcus Mariota's arms are redic long, he can hold the ball out 2 gaps from hi body while holding 1 gap and pull it in and boom hes gone up the middle.
Foles has more then enough athletic ability and size to be the man in a hybrid Chip offense. |
If Foles is the guy it's because Chip Kelly installs a completely different offense.
Nick Foles is NOT a zone read QB, and using your logic Peyton Manning would excel at the zone read just because he has all those other areas
The zone read is absolutely not about size, hand size, etc if your QB is slow as molasses that means jack squat because your QB is not a threat to run which is the whole point of the zone read being an effective play is the hesitation in the defender not knowing who is going to get the ball when they see the QB put the ball in the belly of the RB
Who is going to bite on a fake QB run for a guy who runs an above 5.0 40 time? |
