*2nd rounder on Gerhart. |
They spent a premium pick on Gerhardt, but they don't seem to use him very much (except for third down blocking/catching.) Which is fair, because they have Peterson. |
Really a waste. |
I could really see Gerhardt having a sort of Chester Taylor career renaissance after he leaves MN as a free agent, it's not like he can't play, it's that they have some sort of futuristic cyborg playing RB ahead of him. |
I stand corrected. They had no first round pick. They had 2 2nd rounders and spent the 2nd on gerhart. |

Just to lay it out plain, Minnesota had a first round pick but traded #30 (Jahvid Best) and #128 (Jason Fox) for #34 (Chris Cook), #100 (Everson Griffen) and #214 (Mickey Shuler.)
Then Minnesota traded #62 (Brandon Spikes) and #93 (Tony Moeaki) to go up and get Gerhart at #51.
So Minnesota traded their first four rounds of picks for Cook, Gerhart, Griffen, and Shuler (who was waived 2 weeks into his rookie season.) |
