|
|
|
HC: Chip Kelly
OC: Pat Shurmer
DC: Billy Davis
Cuts/Not Resigned:
Demetress Bell
King Dunlap
Mike Patterson
Darryl Tapp
David Sims
Matt Reynolds
Julian Vandervelde
Matt Kopa
Evan Moore
Trent Edwards
Brandon Hughes
Jenkins
Resign/Restructure:
DRC
Jordan
Peters
Nnamdi
Michael Vick
Free Agency:
Glover Quin, S
Instantly upgrades our terrible secondary, as long as he stays healthy.
Keenan Lewis, CB
Not the best corner available, but solid starter in Pittsburgh and should be no different in Philly
Philip Wheeler, LB
Wheeler earned a contract this season with an outstanding performance but he will most likely test the free agency like the rest of the Raiders agents
Desmond Bryant, DT
There is a need for a NT or big body for the new defensive scheme, and he will produce.
Donald Thomas, G
Showed glimpses of ability when filling in for a very solid Patriots offensive line
Dennis Dixon, QB
He may help the offense transition more smoothly if Foles fails
NFL Draft
Eagles trade 4th overall and 2014 2nd round pick to Jets for 9th and 2014 1st round pick after the 49ers trade their 1st round pick and a conditional for Darelle Revis
Eagles trade 2nd to Tennessee for 2nd and 3rd
Eagles trade Trent cole and Tennessee's 3rd to Miami for 2nd
1st round, Pick 9:
Dion Jordan, DE/OLB
Chip Kelly takes his man out of Oregon and fills a need with a very versatile player, in the new scheme Jordan can be used at either end of the linebacking group as a down rusher or standing blitzer
2nd Round, pick 40:
Jesse Williams, NT
The Eagles realize that they can trade back and still get Williams so they deal the 35th pick to Tennessee so they can get Barrett Jones
2nd Round, Pick 42:
Tyler Eifert, TE
Eifert provides a desperate need as a Red Zone target with size and strength in the endzone, and the Eagles ship out Cole who fills an immediate need for the Miami Dolphins
3rd round:
Jonathan Cyprien, S
He is quickly shooting up the draft boards, and if he went to a school with more exposure could've been a 1st or 2nd round pick.
3rd round, Chicago pick:
David Quessenberry, OT,G,C
Quessenberry adds depth to the entire front line, and is a solid depth pick
4th round:
Tyrann Mathieu, CB
Mathieu is a high risk/reward pick for a secondary that needs a lot of help, and if he panes out, could become a star
5th round:
Cobi Hamilton, WR
Hamilton has great size and ability and adds some well needed depth to a struggling wide receiver core
6th round:
Xavier Nixon, OT
Adds depth to offensive line, solid starter at Florida
7th round:
Brad Wing, P
Starts punter competition with McBriar
7th round, compensatory:
Michael Mauti, LB
Mauti is returning from another injury and may need some time off, but when healthy he is a dominant ILB
Depth Chart:
(R)-Rookie
(N)-New signing
Offense:
QB: Foles, Dixon(N), Moore(N)
RB: McCoy, Brown, Lewis
FB: Havili
WR: Maclin, Jackson, Hamilton(R), Avant, Cooper
TE: Celek, Eifert(R), Harbor
LT: Peters, Quessenberry(R), Nixon(R)
LG: Mathis, Quessenberry(R), Watkins
C: Kelce, Quessenberry(R)
RG: Thomas(N), Watkins, Quessenberry(R)
RT: Herremans, Kelly, Nixon(R)
Defense:
LE: Bryant (N), Graham, Curry
NT: Williams(R), Bryant(N), Dixon
RE: Cox, Bryant(N), Dixon, Hill
Predator/Leo: Jordan (R), Graham, Curry
Mike: Ryans, Matthews, Mauti(R)
Will: Kendricks, Chaney
Sam: Wheeler(N), A. Jordan
CB: DRC, Lewis(N), Boykin, Mathieu(R), Asomugha
FS: Quin(N), Allen
SS: Cyprien(R), Coleman

One of the the best draft mocks I've seen. Love Cyprien and Quessenberry. _________________

I like it except for a few things.....
I wish there was a way to trade up into the first and get Jessie Williams without having to trade that far back in the first...picking a Moore or Warner with that #4 would be huge and still getting Williams late in the fist.
Also, its going to be sad to see Cole go, but with the 3-4, I guess you have to make sacrifices.
I also wouldnt mind the Eagles going after Brandon Albert or another big lineman in FA.
Overall though, I like that you have addressed the D!!! |

There is no chance Nnamdi and DRC are back. Both might be gone actually.
I don't like that Colt is gone.
Keenan Lewis is a sleeper signing. I like him.
Nice to see us a get a 2014 1st in a trade.
Like the draft. Not bad mock overall.
In the future, showing all of the cap figures (cuts, new contracts, FAs, draft picks) would be nice. Plus adding pictures is always a good touch. _________________

The draft is a lot like one I've been working on, but not a fan of keeping Nnamdi or DRC. I also think Cyprien goes in the second but its not a major issue. _________________

The only reason I kept nnamdi was because he can provide some tutelage for some of the younger guys coming in but if he really slips up he's an easy cut before the final roster. I know a lot of people want to see DRC gone after pretty much quitting on the team, but Davis did coach him in Arizona when he was a pro bowler, and there are few options that are comparable to talent in the free agency. I think Kelly can control his work ethic and is the sort of firey no nonsense coach that can keep him and the other younger players on a short leash similar to the egos at Oregon.
On the note of offensive lineman in free agency, most of the coveted free agents will sign for a big fee, like Levitre and others, and thats if they don't get tagged, which Brandon Albert probably will. Thomas was backup to both the guard positions in New England but if he didn't have two great guards in front of him, would have easily started, which he showed when he stepped in for injuries.
Cole has been a staple of this defense, but he has been slipping and it showed that he relied a lot on the production and pressure of the rest of the D-line to get to the quarterback rather than be the playmaker he was in the past, and think of Cole being traded for Eifert who will immediately help with scoring and will instantly become a focus for defensive secondaries, relieving pressure from our undersized, but speedy WRs and allowing the redzone offense to keep the defense on their feet when the main option was always McCoy, or an ill advised fade to WRs who don't have the size to out play the secondary in such close space |

if this happened i would be very happy.. especially getting two first round picks in a what is expected to be a very strong class in 2014 if Foles doesnt work out next year you get to choose from Teddy Bridgewater, David Fales, Jadeveon Clowney, etc. _________________ Still bleed green.. | I updated it for post combine, and the possibility that we can get an additional 2014 first round pick if the Revis trade happens |

I'd love if we got him, but Lewis is a RFA and I doubt Pittsburgh lets him go. Not a bad FA.
Draft is solid....But you're dreaming if you think Eifert is going to last til the 42nd pick. Dude is a first rounder...especially after his combine.
I don't really like Cobi Hamilton...I'd rather upgrade our WRs with someone like Wilson if we take a late rounder... _________________

I like it.
Desmond Bryant wouldn't be a NT he would be a 5-Tech.
I would prefer if we waited with the 1-Tech NT instead of grabbing Jesse Williams.
But I like everything else about the mock. _________________

I just wanna say I also loved this mock, but I also love how absolutely no one caught and/or cared that he re-signed Vick and left him off the depth chart haha I guess everyone still doesn't want Vick on the team. Anyways, great draft dude and I love your FA signings. Nnamdi/DRC won't be here, but even then I could live with Lewis/Mathieu/Boykin as the CBs we have, atleast for next year. I really think Mathieu is gonna be a nice surprise for a team ala Janoris Jenkins and become a legit starter. _________________
