| dswinton wrote: | | When he said we should build around Gabbert. | He also said we'll upgrade when we can upgrade. I guess we all miss that, huh? His point is Gabbert is very young, doesn't have very many good pieces around him, and has been put in poor situations. His point is that you give him a chance still, while also allowing yourself to build the rest of the team, and get yourself competition at the position.
| Quote: | | I guess you (Ipwn) want Gabbert to start too. | In what way did anything I say suggest I want Gabbert to start?
| Quote: | | I dont get you guys on here maybe yall like losing, how could anyone defend Gabbert's poor performance after 2 years. | Who is defending Gabbert's first two seasons? Not one person here has ever suggested, even since the time he was drafted, that Gabbert is clearly the answer. Maybe you'd understand us better if you actually read what we were saying?
However, this is Gabbert's rookie year
210/413 50.8% 2,214 yards 5.36YPA 12TDs 11INTs 5 fumbles 65.4 QB rating
This is his sophomore year, had he played in 16 full games:
305/523 58.3% 3,128 yards 5.98YPA 17TDs 11INTs 7 fumbles 77.4QB Rating
This is a QB who has recently won two Super Bowl MVPs, and is widely considered a top 5QB:
95/197 48.2% 1,043yards 5.29YPA 6TDS 9INTs 2 fumbles 55.4 QB Rating
294/557 52.8% 3,762 yards 6.75YPA 24TDs 17INTs 7 fumbles 75.9 QB Rating
Point out to me how one of these guys is so terrible that he "gets people fired" and the other is so good that he wins multiple Super Bowls.
And this doesn't mean that we absolutely should stick with Gabbert, but it does mean that we shouldn't just throw him to the side and refuse to even give him a chance like you're suggesting as well. _________________

| Dude the fact that Gabbert is still on the team gets me. I would rather us build around Henne than Gabbert. You left out one key stat how many wins to losses did we have when Gabbert was starting. You got rookies who have won more games in their first year then Gabbert have in two. I dont think Gabbert should have any shot at starting we should look in a new direction. |

How many wins did we have when Henne was starting?
Show me some QBs that would win games with the 30th ranked defense and the 30th ranked run game. I'd like a list. _________________

Aaron Rogers? I think thats it. | That reminds me. And our bad o-line. Also an amendment to the defense. 30th ranked scoring defense that doesn't get turnovers.
So yeah, maybe Aaron Rodgers. _________________

Aaron Rodgers went 6-10 with a team that made the NFC Championship the year before :3 _________________

The Patriots had the 31st defense when they played the Giants last year in the superbowl and I can't remember when they had top run game.
@jdjaguar: The new direction I'm talking about is Geno Smith, Kirk Cousins, Matt Barkley, Ryan Mallett , Matt Flynn, EJ Manuel. If not Geno I would love to see Kirk Cousins here, also wouldn't mind Barkley. |

It sounds like our new direction should be Tom Brady. _________________

No doubt in my mind he will succeed if we solidify our O-Line this off-season.
When he had a clean pocket, he looked confident, like against GB.
I would not be upset if we went O-Line with our first two picks. _________________

I would probably be unhappy. _________________
