Paying someone 4M to go away is tough when they'd make 4M anyway to stay. We'll know more after the draft but there's basically three options for him...
1. Cut him
2. Keep him as the starting RG (plz no)
3. Re-structure/pay-cut as a backup OG/OC
I prefer #3 cause you need two centers. If we draft a RG in the 2nd or 3rd I'd rather Kelemete be the main backup OG. _________________

Only 1M? He's a goner then. |
He hits at least 4M. Could be more, but not less. Still has 4M of his signing bonus to hit the cap. |
yes he remaining signing bonus is 4 mil. If he is let go the pro rated signing bonus has to be taken this year on the books but you have to deduct the base salary that you don't have to pay.
4M signing bonus + any other paid bonuses
minus
2013 base salary
equals the cap hit that you would have to take. |

A lot of confusion so I'll touch on it for the group:
As I noted here weeks ago, workout bonuses are to count half against the cap if in excess of 100K dollars and the player's rep can make the case that it is LTBE, aka "Likely To Be Earned". All other incentive bonuses are sent to arbitrators to determine their "LTBE" status.
JUst once more for the group, cutting Snyder/Colledge does NOT hit this team for additional 7.5 or whatever million cap dollars. _________________

Hopefully we clean house upfront with Snyder, Coleldge and Sendlein.
Champ, what do you think the likelihood is that this happens? _________________

Highly unlikely IMO. _________________

It also does next to nothing for our Cap. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Doesn't kill our cap the way some seem to think but you're correct, it doesn't do anything to help it either.
Bottom line, we have a lot of needs and not the means to be players in FA. We have to focus on the draft and trying to adequately replace 3 starting interior lineman in 1 draft isn't feasible, nor advisable IMO. _________________

Base salary counts if guaranteed only |
Oh is did my math wrong.
2013 cap hit is 4M (included bonus hit)
Remaining signing bonus 3M
minus base salary and misc bonus 3.3 M
so 4M + 3M - 3.3M = 3.7 Mil in dead money for 2013. |
