If not, we can draft someone and we should be in good shape.
Miles Austin
*FA/rookie*
Jarius Wright
Michael Jenkins
Stephen Burton (possible replace with late round rookie)
Greg Childs |
I'd even go FA and draft
Austin
Bowe/Jennings/FA
Wright
2nd rounder (Patton/Hopkins/Rogers/etc)
Jenkins
Childs/Burton
That^^^ would be sweet. _________________

As GM I would not advise trading for Austin, signing a high priced free agent, and drafting a WR in the 2nd round.
In fact as GM I flat out refuse
If we trade for Austin I'm inclined to not go after top free agent receivers and instead focus on a secondary target like a Brandon Gibson. Just my .02 _________________

why not pair Austin with someone like Bowe?
Austin, Bowe, Wright, Rudolph and Peterson would be a true KAO.
I agree we don't need both a FA and a high draft pick, but we definitely need another WR to go with Austin. _________________ From the fool’s gold mouthpiece the hollow horn,

I'm not a fan of Bowe and don't think his on the field production is worth adding a knucklehead like him to the roster on a long term. high priced, deal. He already turned down an 11M AAV contract I believe.
Of course that's just my opinion if you guys wanna go after him we certainly can. This is not a dictatorship. _________________

That is definitely too high for Bowe. If Jennings has a more reasonable deal he could be a good pick up, but if the contracts are going to be that high we should definitely pass. No reason to take on such a big contract for a flawed player. _________________ From the fool’s gold mouthpiece the hollow horn,

I think a late third for Austin is a pretty good deal. I will probably get ripped for suggesting this, but is Plaxico Burress a free agent? He would be an excellent red zone target and should be very cheap. |

The Cowboys are putting Miles Austin for our third rounder up for a vote in their war room to decide whether to make it an official proposal. Over here I think we should do the same on whether or not we should decide to accept said proposal.
Dallas Cowboys
3rd - #85
Minnesota Vikings
WR - Miles Austin
I know we had started an informal polling process but I would like to make that process official now. _________________

rpmwr19 wrote: | I will say this about Austin - he's rather affordable for a #1/#2 receiver
Cost to Us
2013 - $6.732M
2014 - $5.5M
2015 - $6.88M
2016 - $11.38M
Playing this out in the future; if he's good for us he doesn't see that full $11.38 cap number in 2016, and he would arguably give us the best outside receiver we've had in recent memory. I've sent a last PM to Dallas and pending what they say I can put it to an official vote. |
Just as a refresher. _________________
