It's weird how secretive the front office was over late round picks |
Means they've already found this years Blair Walsh _________________

Former 49ers coach Mike Singletary wants to be a head coach again. Since he’s currently a linebackers coach with the Vikings, becoming a defensive coordinator would be a big step in that direction.
According to Jeremy Fowler of CBSSports.com, Singletary has interviewed for the defensive coordinator position in St. Louis.

They can have him, as far as i am concerned. The LBs havent taken a step up, if anything, they have regressed. _________________

I'm with you. I want nothing to do with Singletary. _________________

Nick Barnett was released from the Bills. Could be a decent stop gap option at MLB. _________________

Except that he's an OLB. He only played inside in the 3-4. He's always been outside in the 4-3. _________________

If we can get a good MLB in the draft, he could be a decent fill in at OLB untill we get someone younger. |

Barnett played in the middle for GB but he's been an OLB since. _________________

Barnett insulted the Vikings over the years on many occassions. He's dead to me! _________________

Barnett is an interesting option, he has played both MLB and WLB. Id consider him as a stop gap, two down player at either MLB or WLB. _________________

I have no idea which LB will burst onto the scene; I just need to see their recorded 40 times, 3-cone drills, vertical and watch their drills to see what stands out. If the Vikings were to draft a WR with their 1st pick and a Teo, Ogletree, or Minter were sitting there at overall pick #35 or so, I'd be all over trading up.
In regard to OLB, Ogletree (today) just seems soooooo fast. Question is, does that translate into reads and being in the right spot 99% of the time? With him being a converted Safety, I have to believe his coverage skills have to be much better than most LBs . . . then again, a certain division rival tried converting a certain Mr Urlacher to OLB, and he just didn't work there -- and I don't think there's much jury time to worry about how his move to the middle played-out
Teo, on the otherhand, does not seem "fast" but he's quick-ish and has a
knack for being in the right spot at the right time. Yeah, he's a playmaker, and the Vikes need another one. |
