Why is Greer better than a 4th for this team?

He's a solid starting CB and was borderline legit #1 status for a while. We're not going to get better value than that in the 4th round and we have a big need for a solid vet CB. I don't see the issue.

He's 30. He's making 4.1M this year. He's expendable on the worst D ever.

We're re-building. A pick should be more valuable to us than a guy on the wrong side of 30.

30 isn't that old for a CB. The cap 4.1M I'll concede because I didn't know that. Fact remains that we still need a vet presence with our CBs other than Hanson though. I'd say its your call, but its really up to jtagg so, its his call. I'm still for it.

Of course it's my call, it's my opinion. It's no up to jtagg, it's up to all of us, if the majority prefers Greer then that's our call. If the 4th is prefered, that's our call as well.

BTW, the deadline to submit an offer to one our UFA (Desmond Bryant) is tonight. Did we do something about that?

The majority is in favor, I was just saying it isn't ONLY up to you. Just like it isn't ONLY up to me or ONLY up to jtagg. If there's more debate from others then so be it, but it looks like jtagg went through with it.

I have no idea why you'd feel the need to say it's not ONLY up to me when all i'm doing is bringing a point i've never seen discussed in this thread. The value of Greer compared to a 4th round pick, which was the Saints original offer. Greer's value is supposedly clearly higher while i see a few things pointing to the contrary. I find that worth discussing.

So if we do the Greer, Sproles trade, we are 5,594,716 under the cap, not counting any RFA/ERFA tenders or re-signing Bryant. We have to clear some cap room.

The Saints Part already agreed to the trade and sent it to the trade council. Still waiting for jatgg to send it in!

We'll have to check out numbers for people who we could also cut or trade. I would like to package Bey and/or Kelly somewhere b/c that would alleviate a lot of room for us.

What is the deal with the Flynn trade? Our 4th rounder for him sounds good.

Did anyone jump on the Ross pickup

Why would the Raiders trade for a noodle armed WCO QB for a vertical offense?

He's accurate, young, and has better pocket presence. Gives Pryor a chance to compete, without just giving him the job. Plus we can ditch Palmer's contract. And use the funds to beef up the front 7.
