He never did that, though. What would we do without Jerry to kick around?

Does anyone think NE will break the bank to resign Welker? OR that some team overpays hims earning NE yet another high comp pick?

I think that if Tavon Austin falls to us in the second (highly unlikely) we grab him. It would be awesome if we could have both Tavon and Bennett as slot receivers. But we really don't need a new slot wr. When is the last time Bennett dropped a pass? He has one of the most reliable set of hands in the NFL, he run routes well, and he does what we ask him to do. He is even more reliable on third down than Marshall and Jeffery! He is tough, works hard, and fights for position in the middle of the field. Very underrated. We need another no.4 but our first three are very solid. Matchup nightmares on the outside and a reliable WR on the inside. He retired as the all time SEC leader in receptions.

I don't think anyone is going to break the bank for Welker personally. He's perfect for his role in NE which inflates his stats significantly but would be far less effective almost anywhere else. Assuming NE will pay him at or close to his market rate I would be absolutely shocked to see him leave.

When did he take a small school OL in round 1?
