With White and Koutouvides coming off the books we need some ST/LB types. I recall Reiss didn't think Fletcher was in the mix to be a contributor on defense last season though, so they're probably not done addressing the LB position from a depth building standpoint.

He didn't really stand out too much in 2010 or 2011 on special teams. He'll definitely have to improve in that regard to replace White or Koutouvides.
I really liked the ability he flashed in 2010 but between the injuries and the lack of progress developmentally (possibly due to injuries), it's tough to count on him for much.
In other words, it wouldn't surprise me at all if he was a key player for the team but it also wouldn't surprise me if he is gone in 1st cuts in August. I don't think that he makes the team unless he shows he's capable of taking a step forward as a LB. |
