Sure, he's had some issues, but after the way we've seen Brandon turn things around, perhaps he could act as a mentor to Young.
He's got something to prove, therefore he'll come cheap. Could also teach us some things about what the Lions do.
What are your thoughts? |

A player that the Lions released for character issues? No. |

The general consensus elsewhere was that this will likely serve to wake Titus up and some other team will get the "good Titus". There's no denying he has talent. |

NO. Sure he might be a great player with some moments here and their but he is not worth the drama he brings to a football team. Even when he was playing at Boise St. he seemed very arrogant to me. There are better options in FA and in the draft. _________________

I can't help but think that his release, coupled with what Brandon has done with his life and new-found mentoring prowess could make Titus into a player we could use. He'd come real cheap and if he doesn't prove himself, we could release him. He's only 24 or something, we'd have a great WR core for the next 5-7 years. |

They should be scouring the woods for another WR though, it is true. |

What are your thoughts? | So let me get this straight, you want to sign a guy who quite literally quit on his team and even sabotaged them?? Look Brandon turned things around b/c a) he was never a bad guy to begin w/ and b) he only acted like he did b/c of his illness which he HAS SOUGHT TREATMENT FOR.
In order to change somebody has to want to change, all indications from Young is that he doesn't want to change. _________________

Even if he turns it around and becomes worthy of the 2nd round pick Detroit spent on him, the answer is a huge resounding NO for me.
Guy tried to sabotage his team, that disgusts me. Brandon Marshall gets just as many looks from Jay as CJ does from Matt, no way we can keep him happy here.
I hope the guy never gets a chance to play again in the NFL, period. |

Brandon is mentoring Alshon who has true talent, something to prove and all the upside. Would much rather have Marshall and Alshon joined at the hip for the next 6 months and numerous offseasons ahead. Yeah he would come cheap but I don't think he is the answer for us what so ever. There has also never been "the good Titus". _________________

According to Espn, Calvin Johnson was the most targeted receiver in 2012 with 205 footballs thrown his way.
The second most targeted receiver? Brandon Marshall, with 194 looks. 11 less than Johnson.
http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/receiving/sort/receivingYards/seasontype/2
Not to mention Matt Stafford threw 727 passes, almost 250 passes more than Cutler and Campbell combined (485).
Titus Young in the most pass happy offense in the entire NFL, isn't happy because CJ gets the ball more.
Brandon Marshall is targeted in a higher percentage of his QBs passes than CJ is, how will Titus Young fit in here? |

He's T.O. without the talent, potential, and work ethic.
No chance. |
