http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000078667/article/cedric-benson-out-for-eight-weeks-with-lisfranc-injury

Oct. 8, 2012 - reporting Benson is going to miss 8 weeks with a Lisfranc fracture. Sure it's possible to come back in 8 weeks but it's a very touchy injury that has a potential wide range of rehab times that there is no accurate way to measure until you just wait and see. They played a hunch and lost. McCarthy was probably told a best guess hunch, and rightfully frustrated, but it didn't work out that way.

Perry got a second opinion. One doctor said it was fine to postpone surgery to the end of the season, that's not misdiagnosis. That's Perry changing his mind because a second doctor had a different opinion. He was wearing a cast on the wrist the whole time. That was a choice from different doctors having different opinions on how to treat it. Not an incorrect assessment of the injury.

Shields was a high ankle sprain. They thought it would only be a week or two but after practicing it wasn't good enough for him to play on. That's not a misdiagnosis. That's pretty commonplace for high ankle sprains.

Woah. If reporters dug this deep into the Manti Te'o hoax it would of been figured out in one night! Very Happy

spilltray, you need to get real here. Let's start with Benson... Do you really think MM would have stood at his press conference and said 'Benson will return this season' if that wasn't his diagnosis? Come on... If it were a stretch for Benson to return, they would have said that and they would not have used the designation on him. Think about it logically.

As for Perry. Much like Jennings did, do you think he would have sought after a second opinion if he thought the original diagnosis was correct? Again, this is something you need to think about.

Shields... I don't know what more information I need to provide to you. Two seperate articles explaining his injury and how it was indeed worse than originally reported.

Think about this spilltray...The more and more you talk, the more crap comes out and little factual information. You seem to be an injury expert that scours 'tweets' for his credible information.

If you honestly think the Packers original diagnosis of injuries is consistent and accurate, you're just wrong. Why else would you seek a second opinion? Why would a player be out longer than initially reported? If injuries are as 'tricky' as you make them sound, how do you know so much about them? How do you have the answer to every injury that has happened yet the Packers were so bad at initially reporting them?

Come on spilltray, just friggen think about it.
