I also live in a populated area (much of metropolitan PHX is well populated), so that may play a factor as far as the snakes go; those things die off once you build on their land. If you live in the mountains or more desert areas (North Scottsdale), I'm sure you see them all the time. | That's crazy to think you've never seen a scorpion or snake in your entire life. I've been stung 7-8 times by a scorpion already. But that was all when I lived in a small rural town in the middle of nowhere. |

I mean that place looks real nice, especially for that tiny price, but the pictures were taken nearly three years ago, It could be a dump site right now. |
Place looks decent - although I forgot to mention people in Phoenix prefer single story places because the upstairs always ends up hotter.
That area is pretty close to the 303 - which isn't a full freeway yet, but will be.
That other single level place you listed in Mesa looked like it was in an OK but not a great area. A bit too close to the 60/superstition freeway. |
Thanks for the info SuperFly, much appreciated, will pass it on |

though to be said house prices in OZ are highest in the world. |
500k was a low estimate. Biggest worry with going to the US would be getting a green card and a job. Might just have to marry one of the locals. Anyone got a Sister/Cousin/Daughter who is of age and might like a Kiwi? |
Your best bet is to enter the country with a temporary working visa, which lasts 2 years from memory. Once you've got that, find a job, and have the workplace sponsor you for a longer term. I was looking into it early last year so it may have changed, but I know a couple who did this successfully. Unfortunately I can't remember the visa codes for this. _________________

What's the difference between an Aussie wedding and an Aussie funeral?
One less drunk at the funeral.

Champ will go insane with nobody to talk to about Cards' football (I know I would ). Nothing wrong with taking a break to be with the fam. Hopefully he comes back around come draft time cause he's wanted and has been great for this forum. I won't talk about it anymore unless it's PM. _________________

Still don't understand why the Champ thread was locked. Guy has been here for 7+ years and we as his fellow posters have a right to support him in such a thread.
Throw an OT in front of it but don't lock it. _________________
