I was watching the 49ers/Bengals Superbowl on NFLN (NFL Superbowl Classics?), and watching Joe Montana, no lie it was like watching Christian Ponder.
Now, before someone freaks out and throws this and that stat around, I'm just watching the player. His drop back, his tendecies, how he carried himself in the huddle etc. It truly does remind me of our QB.
Anyone care share their opinion on Mighty Joe? _________________

one of my favorite ever all time QB's. but he ain't too much like CP7 at all. sure couldn't run like him.
Montana was a real treat to watch as a NFL fan. he was a truly brilliant, opportunistic surgeon on the field, just dissecting defenses and taking what they would give him. one of his best attributes was his "clutch ability." the bigger the game, the better he played.
four Super Bowls and not one interception in any of them? oh yeah, that's clutch.
Tarkenton on the other hand... _________________

Ever since the season ended I feel like we've had to defend Peterson as the MVP, Carter as a HOF'er, and Harvin at a top slot receiver. Doesn't anyone outside of this forum watch the Vikings? _________________

From the looks of it, we are going in 2 years in a row as big underdogs.
not as much as last year, because there was maybe 1 or 2 non Viking fans that believed in us, but its pretty clear no one expects us to make it back to the playoffs.
Looks like we'll just have to prove them wrong again 2 years in a row _________________

It truly doesnt matter what people think, it has no impact on the outcomes of the games so I wouldnt put much thought into the perception of being the underdog. It isnt significant and probably wont affect the team in anyway. _________________

Let's be real here, most Vikings fans predicted a sub .500 season. Hell, I'm one of the bigger optimists around and I predicted .500 as their max.
I think the underdog role is fair. The Vikings have yet to prove that last season wasn't a fluke. The Vikings are a decent team, but not a 10-6 team on a yearly basis (as of now). Until we get the passing game sorted out and start forcing more turnovers on defense, we aren't a serious contender.
As for people not thinking we'll make the play-offs, they only look at one thing: Rodgers v. Stafford v. Cutler v. Ponder. Pre-season favourites always favor the QB. _________________

I'll say it until people will have learned every word of it if need be.
but, there is really nothing to back it up on (This is true for every team right now). With any given season, anything can happen.
I'm over the 10,000 post mark. Quite a milestone! _________________

I predicted 8-8 last season as well.
Because really, everyone went back to the "oh, they went 3-13, they must have sucked the entire time", but that wasn't true at all. We lost like 9 games that were within a touchdown. More times than not, we played 3 quarters and not 4, and thats why we lost.
This upcoming season, I'd give an early prediction of 8-8, but that will change as soon as Free Agency and the draft is over pretty much.
edit: PurplePeterson, you don't even have 1000 posts yet brother. _________________

Of course, VD is closing in on 65,000...but then again, 2/3 of his posts are less than 3 words long.
I've been here 7 years and haven't even reached 20,000 yet, although I should get there before the next season starts. _________________
