One random unfounded, unsubstantiated twitter and we'll be dealing with this crap all off season until April . . . . _________________ 2013 Mancrush: DT Richardson, OT Joeckel, FS Vaccaro, FS Rambo, WR Dobson, RB Michael, TE McDonald, OT Foketi, WR Swope |

I know that. When did he play great with him like you said? _________________

He had a lot more success under Norv and that system. The tone in the Bay was that the kid was turning the corner and playing well. I think he would have been a ton better with another year under Norv. The kid has skills and has shown the smarts to play in a lot of different systems. I can see it. But that is what I do. _________________

I have always liked Alex Smith. He makes mistakes just liek every other QB. He might come cheaper than Palmer and it seems he is coaching up Kaepernick for the 49's. If Palmer left (retired) I think Alex would be a pick-up for the right price. _________________

Same crap we heard about Leinart last year. Take Smith away from an excellent team in SF and you never know what you'll end up with. From what I saw in the last playoff game last year, when it came time to take a game in his hands and win it, he was an abomination of Leinartian proportions. So no thanks. I thought we were trying to finally add some sort of top level QB in Oakland at some point? Am I wrong?
Not to compare, but between Palmer, Pryor, possibly Geno Smith, what in the heck do we need to mess with Alex Smith? Don't we have enough issues with the rest of the positions on this roster? |

Its also when Vernon Davis was coming around. Davis was Smith's go to guy.
Either way I'm not interested in Smith. _________________

Once he's flamed out with another team and reaches journeyman status, bring him in as a backup. Until then, bring me Matt Moore. Won't cost 1/4 of what Smith will, and he's won games with two much crappier teams than Smith.
Not as a long term starter, naturally. But he'd be a helluva guy to have on the bench if you need someone who can come in and win a couple games. _________________

That probably one of the craziest posts you have come up with. And you don't say crazy stuff too often so it is pretty surprising. Smith is nothing like Leinart. Or vice versa. Leinart has not had any kind of success whatsoever. Smith has. I'm not saying he is going to come in here and be a savior. But as a stop gap until we get our QBOTF, why not? _________________

I'd be embarrassed if we got our cross bay rival's trash....extremely embarrassed. I'll pass. _________________

I never said he was as bad as Leinart.
Just that A. it is the same thing they were saying about Leinart. That he had "turned the corner". And B. when it did come time to put a game on his shoulders he was just absolutely horrendous. I mean, skipping pass after pass horrendous.
Like I said, I thought we were eventually trying to add a top level QB one day? You know, so we can be a good team?
Smith won't benefit here from a great all around team like he did in SF. He'll stick out like a sore thumb here and this team will suck with him at the helm. It sucks already. He won't change that one bit. Why in the world should Oakland add Alex Smith? |

That was actually one of Smith's worst seasons in the NFL. _________________
