Saturday was benched the final four games of the season for us, so we could get a look at Evan Dietrich-Smith, mostly known for being stomped by Suh. EDS looked alright, he could clearly be upgraded. Also I think the TV announcers said that Saturday wanted to pass the torch to EDS and wanted to bench himself, maybe not classy if you are a young rook, but for a veteran I thought that was very classy of him to not be hanging onto his "spot" and knew that his time was up or almost up. I dunno might sound weird to some people I guess. |

unfair to knock him at all because of this last season. he was going for one last shot and clearly his body wasnt along for the ride. one of the greatest to play the position. _________________

Gotta give the guy tons of credit for telling the coaches he didn't have it anymore and pulling himself out. Great career!! Good luck to him in the future! |

I didn't know that was how it went down, but with Saturday, I'm not surprised. That's a classy move. He's one of my favorite Colts of all time. I hope we do the ceremonial 1 day signing for him so he can retire a Colt. |

Saturday's going out as he should, a Pro Bowler. One of the best, if not the best, centers of this generation. |
Saturday did not deserve to go out a Pro Bowler... _________________

That's just how it goes for linemen (especially interior guys) - they get snubbed in the beginning of their careers and get a gift or two at the end.
I'm not sure why Saturday's getting called out for it, it's not like that system just got put in for him this year. |

Barry Sanders (naturally), and I'm sure a bunch of linemen have actually. Reputation carries those guys to an absurd number of pro bowls past their primes. |
Yeah, it is really common with lineman. Willie Roaf, Will Shields, and Brian Waters all ended as pro-bowlers. _________________

Good for him. Being aroung the Indy charity scene, he has been extremely involved his whole career. Not just money wise either. He is always around, involved and extremely helpful. It's always been one of the main reasons I loved him on the colts. Also, he was a really good player. |

Now he can fill in for Shaun O'Hara on NFLN on sick days and no one will know the difference. |
