Cribbs I'd most likely let walk.

Cribbs is still effective as a KO returner and gunner on ST.

Currently, the best person in the AFC to do so.

Why re-sign someone in their prime at the top of their game, though?

because benji is faster... and cribbs gets paid 5m a year

So use Benji to return punts, but don't even think about using him as a gunner.

I think Cribbs might be willing to stick around Cleveland for $3-4M/year. That to me is worth what he brings to the team, and wouldn't really have a dramatic effect on the cap.

that bademosi kid is pretty darn good at gunning.

He is. Would he be if he drew more attention because of Cribbs' absence? I'd rather not know.

i would. 5m for a gunner, reserve WR and a slow aging 30 year old KR who got outshined this year by the young super fast benji in his limited appearances doesnt seem like a good use of money to me

really though I think there's a spot for Cribbs on the team but he'd have to take a pay cut, which is probably gonna happen wherever he goes. Pro Bowl isn't a barometer for anything anymore, he's likely going to be fazed out as a returner and offers just coverage and reserve WR value at this point.

Is it just me that finds it a little curious that Cribbs even lined up at WR in the Pro Bowl, much less did well?

I mean, new HC/OC, new teammates, new system, etc.

I truly believe he's a gamer that could probably make an NFL team as a 4th/5th WR if he had to. That said he has to be paid like what he is, not what he used to be able to do in the return game.

It ain't going to take 5m to retain him, numbers person.

I think Cribbs is gone unless the new regime is willing to line him up as an offensive weapon. I think he wants to play more on the offensive side of the ball (and always has, but toed the line and said what the team wanted him to). I think he would most like to do it here but that the opportunity won't be there. I wish him luck going forward and I pray he doesn't end up on a division rival because that would make me sad.

I do expect to see him in another pro bowl.

well considering we aren't paying him 5m anymore I don't see how that's relevant. You sound a little bitter.

Maybe not, but $3-4M isn't even a lot of money for the team with the 2nd highest amount of cap space.

maybe some really spendy team like the Raiders or Redskins drops a contract on him like the one we gave him a few years ago but I don't see how he's done anything but depreciate greatly since then.

The position is undervalued as well. His "big payday" days are behind him.

unfortunately i think another team will offer Cribbs a bigger payday than the Browns. some team with bad ST will overpay for him. while Cribbs has been good to us i suspect a bigger paycheck will outweigh his loyalty to Cleveland.

Phil, on the other hand, needs to be signed here to a fair contract. i don't know what i'll do if we have problems with our kicker next year. that's the one bit of sadness we haven't had to endure here.
