In all honesty i'm not sure a lot of coaches would have pulled Alex for Colin.
On local SF radio they had former QB Jeff Garcia on. He said most coaches would have kept Alex as the starter. They also had former NFL OC Ted Tollner on and he said he would have kept Alex as a starter because of his experience.
In terms of strictly head coaches, i'm not sure many of them would have made the move. |

When you play by far the easiest schedule in the league you should get the 1 seed. |

In my opinion, the only coaches that should be in nomination are those that got home field advantage as that is the epitome of what can be accomplished in the regular season, as far as production, and what every high level team strives for.
1. Mike Smith
2. John Fox |

so Jim Harbaugh knew Colin Kaepernick was an "All Universe QB?"
So in other words, he decided to not start the greatest QB to ever exist, bar none in the universe for 10 games over Alex Smith?
got it. _________________

as for my vote, I'd give it to Frazier because most people were expecting Minnesota to go 1-15 to 2-14.
They were by far, the NFL's underdog.
My next vote would be Arians/Pagano. _________________

Judged based solely on what we know a coach is responsible for- clock management, challenges, game planning and in game adjustments, personnel decisions, etc.- John Harbaugh was quite clearly COTY.
Mike Smith did the same thing Schwartz did with regard to throwing a challenge flag after a non challengeable play. He made that dumb decision to not go for two at a crucial point of the first Saints game that could be argued lost the game for them. And for all this talk about his record, his team barely surprised against clearly inferior talent. That to be is a sign of decidedly bad coaching. |

I don't know how Harbaugh didn't win this for making a huge change on offense that led to greater success. I mean he also has his team in the Superbowl. |

This is just for the regular season and the 49ers had less wins than they did last season. |

If he had used "he" instead of "the 49ers" he could've kept up the ambiguity. |

Harbaugh fires his OC week 14 is in the Superbowl. |
Surely though that would show how bad some of his coaching decisions were up until then as he kept him for 14 weeks ?
There are coaches more deserving of COTY than Smith without a doubt.Yes his team had a good record but it has faced no adversity and has plenty of talent on it. |
