Bengals just can't help themselves when they see a former first round pick on the waivers... Laughing

Eh low risk, if he doesn't show anything we can cut him.

I honestly don't have a problem with stuff like this, though sometimes its excessive. Zimmer has shown he can really rejuvenate guys/change their paths.

Agreed. I like the signings. With all the FA's we have to re-sign it's good to get some guys signed now incase we can't retain a lot of them.

Maybin is an odd fit though. Not the mold of DE's we usually sign. Would be odd seeing him at a LB in our 4-3...

He is only around 240 lbs or so. I expect he is competition for the SLB for next year.

Likely a camp cut

Agree Duke.

Just hope this doesn't mean the Bengals think they don't have to go out and draft a OLB. Bit dangerous to pin our hopes on Moch & Maybin.....

That's jumping quite a bit. This is no different than bringing in Harvey, Anderson and other DEs and letting them fight for a spot last season. We need bodies anyway to fill out the offseason roster.

Now if he flashes at SLB, maybe...............

Thornton said Maybin was insurance against Gilberry leaving.

Kind of a theme for the Bengals to take a chance on a low risk high reward player, especially a former first rounder on defense. I like it. It can only help, if it works out great but if it doesn't the Bengals don't have much invested.

He was told he will work as a SAM LB. no shock there. Marvin has always wants a SLb that can rush the QB

Like the signing. Low risk/high reward. Had a good year in 2011 and still has some potential I'm sure.
