Who wins/loses will be determined by a jury of our peers. Hoping to empanel members of this forum.

But bruce, the decision was already made. You offered no evidence of your opinion that Weeden is trash, I offered evidence of my opinion that he has the potential to be good.

Did you ignore that too or something?

And by the way, juries don't decide whose opinion is correct, they actually form their own opinion based on evidence.

You offered none, so what's the point?

And if you intend to offer some evidence during this “trial” why not just offer it now?

Somehow I donna think the "complaint" will cast your comments in as favorable a light as you see them.

bruce, that's 2 post in a row where you did nothing to advance the discussion about Weeden.

Let me make my stance clear...

I don't believe Weeden is a bad QB and you do.

I actually looked at his individual performance and tried to weight it with the circumstances he was subject to.

You looked at the win/loss record of the Browns and tried to explain how a QB is a field general and therefore is directly responsible for the win/loss record.

I pointed out that a QB has more impact on a game than any other individual, but you seem to think he has more impact than every other individual combined.

Do I have all that right so far?

Hey, Entropy, I love reading your posts and appreciate the amount of thought you put into them, but you have taken this one to the point of an apologia for Weeden's [inappropriate/removed] poor play.

Time for a "Jawsuit"!

LOL

bruce, I'm really not sure why you think not agreeing with your exaggerations is akin to apologizing for Weeden's poor play, but have fun with that Very Happy

here is my two cents.

You look at the rookie QBs who played very well this year. Luck, RGIII, and Wilson. Their offense was catered around their strengths as a QB. RGIII and Wilson are not the greatest pocket passers so they had a lot of plays that has the QBs moving in and out of the pocket. Luck had a OC that knew his strengths of stretching the field and they did so and etc. They all had the offense designed for them.

With Weeden, he was playing in a offense IMO that was not suited for his playing ability. At OkSt, he played in a great offense that had the QB attacking the defense and attacking down the field. In shurmurs WCO he basically had Weeden just taking what the defense was giving him. How many times did we see him settle for the cross route over the middle because the defense basically gave it to us. IMO I think thats what he is told to do because we saw a lot of that crap with McCoy as the QB the year before. A majority of us have stated before in game day threads how much better Weeden looked when he was playing aggressive and stretching the field. Instead of building your offense around your talent, Shurmur tried to force the talent around the offense.

In College his passing yards per attempt was 8.4, with the Browns it was only 6.5. Yeah two yards, it doesnt seem like a lot but those could of been first downs that kept drives alive and lead to points and etc. I was a big OKSt fan Weedens senior year because they were an exciting team to watch. I didnt remember seeing Weeden settling for the outlet pass or the over the middle 5yard crossing route in college. Him and Blackmen/Cooper were always attacking the field.

You look at the QBs who played in the playoffs and they were playing in offense that were designed perfectly for them. Flacco has a big arm and the Ravens rode that big arm to the superbowl. SanFran, uses Colin perfect. Tom Brady and Pats, enough said. Denver, their OC built a system for Tebow and worked and he built a completely different system for Manning and it worked even better.
