I keep hearing the rumors about Romeo rennel. In addition, I ear how it takes these tall, massive ILBs. If Martez Wilson were to move to ILB, wouldn't Maualuga make a good partner.
Why him you ask? He's affordable, good tackler, familiar with scheme (USC), and saves us a ILB draft pick.
Like it or not fellas, this new 34 needs a lot of new personnel. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly sure Tez played ILB at Illinois... _________________

That he did... As a rush outside backer Tez would need to develop alot especially with his hand placement and usage. On the inside he'd be a plug and play guy because it is his natural position.
His length inside would also be valuable in coverage aganist the bigger more physical te's.
I think this goes back to what Payton said before he fired Spagnuolo... "are we asking out players to do what they do best"? _________________

Like asking a 3-4 ILB to be a 4-3 DE lol. We have MUCH more 3-4 talent on this team than we do 4-3...As if last seasons defense didn't ring that point true. _________________

I think Tez will be a guy that can play any of the "4" positions in a 3-4 defense.
The fact that they had him playing DE this season show you where they think his future is though.
Having an OLB that can play ILB will be very nice. _________________

Thats why I hope we land an innovative DC... someone who's willing to use his personnel to his advantage insiead of just saying, "here this is my lineup let's play".
Ya know what I'm saying... _________________

What can Maualuga do that Lofton can't? Lofton is better. He had experience at ILB in college. And I think that the 3-4 can help coverupcoverup his deficiencies in coverage. Wilson at ILB wouldn't be bad. |
