interesting read here:

http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stat-analysis/2012/introducing-snap-weighted-team-age

Rather than looking at the average age of a roster, football outsiders does a weighted average where starter hold more weight than backups, as they should since most backups are young players.

the Vikes are in the middle of the pack, not so much yute after all.

It's a yute "movement", not necessarily a yute moment. They are going the way of younger, while letting the older players walk away.

But, looking at the list, it appears that they are the 10th youngest team overall, as they are ranked #23 when #1 is the oldest (which is Atlanta at 28.0 years).

The Vikings have the 2nd youngest offense and the 12th oldest defense, which will definitely change when Winfield retires and if they let Brian Robison depart after this coming year.

Agreed, the team has a little bit of a ways to go in terms of roster overhaul with some older players but they have made a lot of strides. You compare where this team was 2 years ago, the difference will be quite noticeable.

I think the Seahawks are #1 or #2. Pretty amazing considering how good they are right now.

Plus Allen and Williams, 30 and 32 respectively, both play a high percentage of snaps.
