I'm concerned that WP can't get it done. He's been very bad against spread it out offenses. _________________

Didn't feel this was worthy of it's own thread, but rotoworld had a little blurb on Cushing's impact on the defense:
| Quote: | | The Texans' defense ranked first in points allowed and first in yards allowed prior to ILB Brian Cushing's October 8 ACL tear, compared to 18th in scoring allowed and 13th in yards. They plummeted from the No. 2-ranked pass defense with Cushing to No. 24 in pass defense without him. "He was always the heart and soul of the defense," CB Johnathan Joseph said. "We went as Cush went." An every-down linebacker, Cushing was the centerpiece of Houston's oft-used dime defense. The Texans are confident that Cushing will be all systems go for the 2013 season. |

Last time bringing up this nightmare.....
Remember when Bill Romanowski said the only way we could beat the Pats is if we hurt someone. Well he was right, only it was the Ravens doing the hurting compliments of Mr. Pollard. They were clearly shaken, Welker was hearing foot steps, Brady was getting rid of the ball early and throwing it into the turf and Ridley took a nap. And we all know how it ended. _________________

We did knock Gronk out, but certainly not maliciously. I agree that we lost our intimidating edge when Cushing went down. Still don't understand why Mercilus wasn't utilized more once Reed came back (Barwin rarely came off the field all season). _________________

Personlly, I think as a LB's coach, it was a good hire. There are some guys that are meant to be position coaches, and nothing else. Bush is one of those guys. I think it was a good move.
Emmmm.....don't let him get promoted to DC! _________________ Texans Nation-The Revolutionis "SMOKkkinn"!! |

Agreed. He was a pretty good LB's coach for the Titans the last 2 seasons. Titans fans were mad when they let him go. _________________
