I would be ok with signing Alex smith, but I don't want to trade for him.

I would also love to get a trade back to go after a prospect next year- bridgewater looked great in the two games I watched last year.

As for Tajh I have never seen him play yet, but I have heard some good things of him on espn radio

I do think it would be wise to pick up a QB in this draft. But I'm not sure how much of an immediate impact someone like Manuel would have (or any rookie).

At this moment in time, it seems the best strategy would be to keep Weeden and develop a young QB acquired from a mid round draft pick for a season or two. I think Manuel might cost a mid 1st round pick right now.

I do like him though.

Even without having any inside knowledge / tips / urinal discussions with browns execs, I think the tone has been clearly "other option". I don't think they're necessarily hating the idea of starting Weeden, but being non comittal gives the FO a chance to evaluate all avenues, but also come back to Weeds without burning any bridges. Like was said already in this thread, I really just don't want to draft one.

i hope we will wait until next year to get a QB...next years class is better and we can use Alex Smith or Weeden as a stop gap for a little while if we need that guy we draft a little time to develop

That would be the smart thing to do but when has this team ever been smart... watch us do a blockbuster trade for Geno.... I would cry.

that is all

That has crossed my mind. Use a couple 1st round picks to trade up for Geno. I hope we are smarter than that, but we shall see.
