I'm sure he learned tons from Payton Manning after all those years together... _________________ I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous. |

Moore's pretty much the guy that taught Manning everything he knows about running NFL offenses and disecting defenses. _________________ Geno Smith, Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, and Bruce Irvin will all have at least 1 pro bowl season each by the end of the decade.

Phoenix is a retirement town so I think it's a good fit. _________________

That's not true. The Jets hired him to improve their red-zone offense and he and Schotty ended up having one of the most efficient red-zone offenses in the league that year.
Moore is still quite knowledgeable. I'm assuming that he was hired in Arizona as a consultant as well? _________________

Just to note, again, Moore was rarely if ever actually in New York with the Jets. I have article quoting Rex Ryan directly that backs this up.
Moore is being title as "Assistant Head Coach In Charge of Offense". He'll be an on the field coach full time. _________________

Now they just need a QB.
Even if Moore taught Manning, he isnt going to mold any of their current QBs into anything more than maybe average.
Still, solid hire after what were IMO 2 mediocre hires. _________________

| The thing that made me wonder about Tom Moore was he had top ranked offense in Detroit when he was there, then went to Indy and molded Peyton to one of the best QB's ever and spent years under one of the greatest coaches ever in Chuck Noll in Pittsburgh. But I don't ever remember Moore being mentioned as a head coach candidate. So does that mean that most NFL people look at him more as the right guy at the right time more then his own abilities. |
