Very raw, but 4th rounder? Higher? |

He's old and inexperienced - albeit brimming with potential. |
He's 24yrs old (couple years older than standard prospect) which is a few years younger than Watkins when he came out. Potential is higher but much more raw. What do you think of his prospect status? 5th round? _________________

I've been watching a bunch of tape on Cornellius "Tank" Carradine DE from FSU. A former JuCo guy who fought his way into a scholarship at FSU only to tear his ACL in November. I think this is a guy that we will grade a 1st round talent and possibly select for a redshirt 2013 season (ala Carter & Lee). He has great size at 6'5" 265 with a frame that can add another 10-15 pounds. At times he look borderline unblockable and was constantly finding his way to the QB. The best quality I saw in him was his discipline against the read option. This has to be a quality we look for in a DE with RG3 and Chip Kelly in the division, and Wilson and Kapernick in the conference. I know we have a ton of holes to fill but I wouldn't be mad at selecting this guy. _________________

| Kellen Davis, bears large tight end, is a candidate for release this offseason. He came in for a visit last year, we offered him a deal, and he went with chicago. If i remember right he was the only free agent that came in for a visit and didnt sign. Think maybe our coaching staff still likes him? Maybe Marinelli can help them decide that one. |

So I have been hitting the tape hard today. I really like Vaccaro, I believe he is the perfect Safety for our offense. I also think Richardson is going to bust if taken in the 1st round. He struggles to stand up to the POA and looks to need to build his strength. _________________

I'm also warming up to Vaccaro, I think he's just as good as Barron was if not better. The draft's depth at S and the team's weaknesses in the trenches make me pause, however. _________________

Im thinking we have a high chance of taking TJ Macdonald in the 2nd. He knows Kiffin's scheme and he was his favorite player.
Kenny's stock dropped a lil because they said he opted out of the senior bowl. _________________

Scouts get disappointed players don't go to the Senior Bowl, they don't drop them on their rankings because of it. It is like when the media says someone's stock soared because of the combine. That isn't true unless it proves something different than what people see on tape in a good way. _________________

The trenches are the deepest positions in the draft this year IMO.
As for Vacarro, I just don't see the 1st round talent that others see I guess. He looks willing to tackle but seems to go for the big hit and is out of control when he tackles. For some reason when I watch him, I just come away saying, "Meh." I wouldn't take him in the 1st. In fact, the only safety I'd take in the first is Elam at this point. _________________

Datone Jones might be somebody to consider in the 2nd if we aren't sure about Crawford playing LDE. _________________

| Quote: | According to Pro Football Weekly's Nolan Nawrocki, USC senior S T.J. McDonald has "warranted some free-agent grades from veteran NFL evaluators," with poor play this season.
Nawrocki states that McDonald is "noticeably taking too many bad angles, getting erased on the second level and gingerly stepping up in run support" on film this season and last. The chances that McDonald goes undrafted are slim, and Nawrocki even admits that, but McDonald has not taken the next step as many predicted prior to the season. Mon, Nov 5, 2012 02:50:00 PM |

I haven't watched any tape on the guy yet, but I've also heard some bad things from USC fans. It's a logical fit for him to go to Kiffin's team, but surely 2nd round is too high for him.

Interesting, could be a variety of factors, though. Wouldn't put much stock into it.

All valid, I just think there's some serious potential for him in coverage- good hips, good ball skills, sound in man and zone coverage, fast. Could be the center-fielder type that we've been dying for. I can see the run-support concerns, but I think he's got good closing speed, takes good angles, and is at least willing to tackle, all of which would indicate that he can develop on that end. _________________
