I wonder how much Bowles liked him, that might be the key to whether we try and bring him back... but he'd probably have to like him a lot considering how much room we have

Hard to say. Our safeties were so astoundingly bad that it's really difficult to blame the CBs for anything. DRC played great football in about eight games and pretty mediocre football in the other eight.
If I had to guess, the Eagles probably will try to sign DRC back. But it's not a sure thing, depending on how much money he wants. |
For what it is worth, Larry Fitzgerald said of DRC: "I don't think there's a cornerback in the NFL as athletically gifted as he is. He's the best athlete I've gone against since I've played in the NFL. It's hands down, not even close."
I would have to think that he would want upwards of $8 million at least based on age and athleticism. I can't see him in Cardinal red again, especially since we are already over the cap as it is.

Given a quirky Deion Sanders paid for play deal would work.
Small base salary say $2 - $3 mil, then incentives for performance, ints, pds, tds, comp % etc.
Same as Deion had with the 49ers back in the day (for you younger fans).
I could see that working for both parties.
Maybe through in a signing bonus or option/roster bonus in 2014 as well. |
